The way Impact filmed backstage segments, where the camera man is sneaking around corners, or staring through blinds and it’s played up as the performers don’t know they are on camera was pretty cool.
They did some really interesting things around this time. I know people weren’t crazy about some of Eric Bischoff’s creative input, but the production improved when he and Jason Hervey were involved.

This was such a beautiful story! People criticize this era of Impact, but Hulk Hogan & Sting were giving their 100 while deep into their 50s at this point.
I feel they're justified, TNA was its own thing with its own talent, but when Hogan came, it became WCW 2.0. You can have old legends or established wrestlers appear, but don't sacrifice your wrestlers who were already with the company
@one-wingedangel5107 it became something else entirely. It wasn't TNA anymore, but it wasn't WCW 2.0 either. Looking back at everything, they were doing what they could to turn real life politicking backstage, from WCW, into character arcs. They did their best to expand the characters of TNA originals. It was this weird mix in the middle, but not quite one or the other, and I think that's really what bothered people. The older WCW crowd were probably happy to see their favorites back, in a big capacity. But I know a lot of us just wanted to see the Originals flourish. Was an odd time in Impact history.
I'm grateful for Impact putting out these retrospectives. They've had some great storylines that didn't get the eyeballs that they probably deserved at the time, so at least newer fans can still get a chance to enjoy it.
One of the greatest gimmicks in wrestling history. Sting like the Undertaker managed to change persona's and make them believable which many wrestlers could not do. I have been a Sting fan since WCW.
Joker Sting, genuinely was something we could get along with as being able to show a different side, makes all the difference. That first segment with Hulk, almost pushed the boundary a little but helped build the character off right.

I got to meet Sting at DragonCon a few years ago. I got to tell him how much I loved both versions of his dark personality. I especially loved his bit with Eric Bischoff, and he smiled when I told him that what he said to him is what a lot of fans felt about him.
Sting was my favorite wrestler as a kid. I quit watching wrestling after WCW ended. Seeing him as the joker sting for the first time in this clip was absolutely phenomenal..
This was sting finding his true character. Joker sting matched how intense steve borden actually was. Similar intensity to the ultimate warrior but with a great intelligent mind for wrestling.
