Yes, come on back! Things are going back to the good old days of Pinterest. Fresh content and a variety of links always works best. Video pins are not necessary, but can be beneficial. Video is taking over every platform. Design multiple pins per link and schedule them out, making sure you've optimized for SEO.
So do you think that to post videos and images on Pinterest with this new update it is better to use the 1080x1920 aspect ratio for both video and images?

Hey! Depends on the pin. Idea pin stats are cumulative for the entire pins life, image and video pin stats are for the last 30 days. It says so right above the pin where the stats are "Lifetime of Pin" or "Last 30 days". I'm assuming once all accounts are updated, all stats will simply be for 30 days.
Hey Lizzie, accounts are being updated gradually, they don't push an update to every single account at the same time. They will be gone soon, keep checking.

Every time i upload a video to Pinterest it uploads two of the same video i only posted once .so i go to delete one and it makes the other one blank and not watchable .. can you please help me with my issue as i cant seem to understand why its doing this
This is a Pinterest glitch, I would contact support and let them know. Or try uploading your pins another way, in a different browser or from a different device and see if it happens. You could also try a scheduler. Either way this is odd.

Thank you so much. My old business interest still has Idea Pins, but the new one I created now has them as paid ads and not organic search, and I was really confused and frustrated. And of course, I couldn't find a clear answer anywhere but here.
Let me clear this up for you, Idea Pins are now only available as ads. You cannot create them "for free" or as organic pins. Just images or videos. If you want to make idea pin style pins upload them from mobile (as you can upload multiple images or videos as one pin), or export it as a single video then upload it. And all your old idea pins are going forward video pins. I might make a video explaining the different types of pins.

But isn't it just really a matter of nomenclature? The process of creating a "video" pin has _exactly_ the same options, at least from what I'm seeing in the Android app.

Best news ever right? No more idea pins! I haven't made a video about this, but if you search in youTube I am sure a video will come up. You simply need to install and activate a social media sharing plugin or Yoast SEO that adds meta data to your content.

Hey Paolo, oh for sure. Idea Pins were a HUGE misstep on their part. The fact they're "retiring" them is all the proof we need. Is it too late? Has the damage been done? Time will tell.
No reposting. All your existing idea pins will be converted into video pins. Down to the meta tags, Pinterest is recategorizing idea pins into video pins. Just going forward make video pins instead.

That could be a blog post and/or TH-cam video, or even a Video Pin showing off it's features or how to use it. Then push the product via that content. Pinterest has changed it's mind about Idea Pins, they don't matter anymore, and they are no longer being favored by the algorithm. Best to focus on static pins or video pins from now on.

Good I'm glad the Idea Pin is DEAD!..I hated to make them. They took forever and produced a ton of stress!!!!!
Woo hoo! It seems like most people agree. Image pins and even video pins are way less stressful than Idea Pins.
The idea pins had stats on them and now pins have no stats on them at all. I struggle to see how that’s an improvement.
