Yeah, that is a good question. For me, I find if I post when I have the most engagement on Pinterest my pins get a little "boost" the first few days, but you are right over the long haul it really doesn't matter as much.

Yeah, this is a good point. My strategy with Idea pins is to simply grow my audience on Pinterest, then when I post normal pinterest pins that have link clicks more people see them and I get more traffic to my blog. I will also often call out in my idea pins to "click the link in my bio" where I have a simple link tree that can direct them to whatever they are looking for.
I have tested both and found that I get more reach when I add videos as Idea pins as opposed to regular pins. But I think it is worth everyone testing in there own account to see if they see the same results.

So short form videos should pretty much always be uploaded as idea pins as opposed to regular pins then?
