Steve, my concern is the response made by the Michigan conference and Stephen Bohr. It was censorship instead of “working together “ it was way overboard and has caused all of this struggle.
I agree with everything you said about the parachurch and purpose of tithe. We need to focus on the Bible and Eg white counsel. We letting human reasoning get the best of us.
There is no need to doubt, to be fearful that the work will not succeed. God is at the head of the work, and he will set everything in order. If matters need adjusting at the head of the work, God will attend to that, and work to right every wrong. Let us have faith that God is going to carry the noble ship which bears the people of God safely into port. The chandeliers fell, and the trunks were rolled from side to side, like balls. The passengers were frightened, and many were screaming, waiting in expectation of death. Please address the other concerns Pastor Vine addressed. At the end of the day, God's truth is left behind, and self and the desire to belong to mainstream takes center stage
So WHM can designate/ suggest legitimate, special ministries where our tithe could go? I think a big issue right now sending tithes to a conference office is a lack of trust in how it's being handled. I'm in the Oregon Conference and I'm not sending my money to them. They can't seem to account for what they've already received. 😞
Please consider, Conrad never said to retain or withhold the tithe. And that is exactly what Ellen White said not to do. It is in accordance with SOP and the Bible to not retain or withhold the tithe but nowhere in either one of those does it say that you should allow your leadership to continue to stab you in the back and still pay them tithe. Our leaders are actually held to a higher standard: not a lower one and then continue to experience the funding of God's church. And by the way, if you study Sister Whites writings you will find that there are plenty of times where she "redirected" her tithe. Additionally, kudos to one of the other commenters who mentioned that Stephen Bohr, The Michigan Conference and others have taken the path of trying to silence others. The path of trying to silence others only comes from one place and it is not God. God did not even try to silence Lucifer. Even the almighty God who knows the beginning from the end and knew exactly what Lucifer was going to be and do, did not try to silence him and he could have of course, very easily. But these men have taken the road of trying to silence others. That, my brothers and sisters, is evil and more than anything else, tells us who is on God's side here.

If dishonest men are not using the tithe in the way it should be used, then God will deal with them, in the same way God dealt with Lucifer and not the loyal angels. God will do the shaking. We can sound the alarm, but to go ahead of God in terms of making revolutionary changes, should not be encouraged. My humble opinion. But I agree with the majority of your sentiments. Happy Sabbath!

Question: The SDA church is known for encouraging keeping the 10 commandments. Isn't it sending mixed messages by breaking the 6th commandment in its Adventist hospitals by providing abortions? I thought this was a very question from the chat line but it did not get answered?? It has been asked of me and I was looking for good answer to give???
It is not Christ's follower that, with averted eyes, turns from the erring, leaving them unhindered to pursue their downward course. Those who are forward in accusing others, and zealous in bringing them to justice, are often in their own lives more guilty than they. Men hate the sinner, while they love the sin. Christ hates the sin, but loves the sinner. This will be the spirit of all who follow Him. Christian love is slow to censure, quick to discern penitence, ready to forgive, to encourage, to set the wanderer in the path of holiness, and to stay his feet therein. DA 462.4
You mentioned what the SDA church has but I did not hear you tell how they follow manmade pagan holidays which are NOT biblical. How about the fact that there is now an SDA pope in the organization??
