@BEHOLD!! hh the ex president resigned last April, and the military regime ruled the country for nine months after that they organized a corrupted election where a new president won but he is one of the corrupted figures in the country, he used to be minister many times. So, people here in Algeria are still demonstrating since February 22, 2019
The new government will be announced tomorrow probably, the demonstrations were peaceful so there were no violence from both sides, just some arrests for demonstrators and public opinion leaders. The international systems are supporting the current regime as long as this regime guarantees their economic interests, so the international media were ignoring the situation in Algeria.
Apep ' actually Turkey‘s in Libya to break the conspiracy against itself in the Eastern Mediterranean. By working together with the legitimate government of Libya, the supporters of Haftar have no legitimate background to rely on. Saying that Turkey breaches International Law only to break it yourself is called hipocrisy.
As an Egyptian, thank you for this balanced report. In regards to Egypt's new capital city, I've always wondered why they didn't choose to build it as a port city on the coast of the Gulf of Suez, such as using the land near Ain Sokhna or Zaafarana. Safaga would actually seem to be the perfect location. This would provide Egypt with a new gateway to the world on its eastern flank and fortify its presence in the Suez Gulf. Major port facilities, access to industry, fishing, tourism, foreign investment potential, military and navy patrols, etc. Do you know why Egypt decided to forego all of these seeming geostrategic benefits, and instead opted to build the new capital in the middle of a desert?

As always an excellent video by Shervan. But still, he forgot to mention one very important aspect: The invaluable treasures in the grounds of the country. The pyramids are just the most known of them, but basically the entire country is sprawling of amazing archeological sites and ancient relicts given 5000+ years of continuous written and built history. It's the perfect setting for high-value tourism for all over the world. Just imagine how much money they could make by making it standard for the global top 1% of society to send their children for 6 weeks to Egypt to discover its treasures. That would be 2+ million tourists every year with each one of them spending some 10,000$ there.

Here's my 2 cents. I think that a study that investigates possible positives and negatives of widening, deepening and straightening the Nile river should be conducted. Straighten the river to make it navigable, and widen and deepen it to make it accessible to cargo ships. If doing this is feasible, and economically beneficial, than digging deep water canals that shoot off this hypothetical new Nile and run to Egyptian ports in the Red Sea might also be a good idea. I also will add that, if doing all this is economically possible and beneficial, than a way to create more arable land could be to divide the country up into 2x30-2x50 blocks of land, using the Nile as the mid line, then creating deep water canals that shoot off the Nile and run between these rectangular blocks. The water that is delivered by these hypothetical canals could be used to help start a massive land reclamation project. Hypothesise that all this is possible. If all these canals worked and a land reclamation project was successful, than infrastructure could be built in these hypothetical reclaimed lands. New city's could be built and more farming and agricultural works could be done. Note: I split up my big block of sentences into smaller sentences because I know how people dislike big blocks of sentences. Also, Happy new year.

This solutions is difficult, but might be necessary for Egypt to survive in the future: 1. Own a technology that turn Saharan desert sand into glasses that usable in Solar Power Plants 2. Use most of the Power from the Solar Power Plants to desalination processes. 3. Use the water to flood flat wastelands to create new productive lands, or if necessary to support the Nile from upstream problems. (To prevent the disaster at Aral Sea or Mexican part of Colorado River) 4. Flood the Qattara Depression to create a productive artificial lake. So, people here in Algeria are still demonstrating since February 22, 2019

Do you know why Egypt decided to forego all of these seeming geostrategic benefits, and instead opted to build the new capital in the middle of a desert?
the reason is: through time, the desert around it populate from Cairo to the canal
why build it on the east, a vulnurable front why not west of the nile, somewhere south of Fayoum

Thanks for talking about the Military oligarchy, personally i believe they are the main reason our country was held back for centuries, now they put their hand on big and small industry, media and even the beaches, cafes, malls and roads,
and brainwashed common Egyptians are tough that the military regime is the only hope to survive the foreign conspiracies while the same regime is taking HUGE loans and aid from those countries.
Centuries? man they have been in rule for only 70 years.
But yeah the military robbed us from the privileges of having the Greek barber and the Italian waiter. LOL.

I doubt it's possible and it wouldn't affect the amount of water available as that is controlled by rain fall

This solutions is difficult, but might be necessary for Egypt to survive in the future:
1. Own a technology that turn Saharan desert sand into glasses that usable in Solar Power Plants
2. Use most of the Power from the Solar Power Plants to desalination processes.
3. Use the water to flood flat wastelands to create new productive lands, or if necessary to support the Nile from upstream problems. (To prevent the disaster at Aral Sea or Mexican part of Colorado River)
4. Flood the Qattara Depression to create a productive artificial lake.
Note:
Though still quite early in the development stage, there are some techniques to create glass from desert sands by using desert sunlight. Hopefully Egypt and another Middle Eastern states can develop it further because Electricity is the most basic solution for all present and near future problems.
