In this lecture, Thomas Abbott discusses Berlin's Museum Island - the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Berlin’s historic Mitte. Museum Island is a grand work of art in itself: five world-famous museum buildings from the time of the Prussian rulers, together with the modern James Simon Gallery, form an exciting sprawling museum complex. The five museum's comprise of the Pergamon Museum, the Bode Museum, the Neues Museum, the Alte Nationalgalerie and the Altes Museum. Thomas explores the history of Museum Island and takes you through some highlights from its fabulous collections.
