Point of Jellal is, Jellal always puts himself down because of his past. He always feels he is not worthy of Erza, Erza has forgiven him but he has not forgiven himself and all his guilty resulted in this. And here Gears is a tactition remember so he manipulated his guilt. And in that when Jellal's time was stopped Ultear who only exists in distorted time because of her spell she used in the gmg arc came and snapped him out of it. Also She appeared in the final season as well. And Then as you know Jellal is adept at using Thought Projection which he used to split himself and give the guild to seigrain. Its like over coming it. As he even says at the end that finally him and Erza are on the same page and tells gears to shut up. Hope this helps. Jellal was already strong enough strength wise but he has always been weak mentally from the start and this was him overcoming most of that. There is a little more which will be explored in the future but yeah this is what I feel
I think the only reason he revealed himself was because he saw Natsu as a genuine threat. Humans were very weak back in his day so he underestimated everyone. Yet again he could've just kept spamming minions until all of them were exhausted. Aldoron is just arrogant at the end of the day.
I really like the enjoyment tracker, it's neat. Episode 17 has some fun ship moments and better animation overall, but I loved Episode 16. I was waiting for that moment since the anime began. Nab, Laki, Reedus, and Vijiter have been around since the very beginning of Fairy Tail and all fought in Phantom Lord. Max and Warren have been around since the Battle of Fairy Tail and Max fought Natsu after the 7 yesr timeskip. Kinana was Eric's(Cobra) cursed snake who met him in Key of the Starry Heavens and learned magic over the timeskip when Fairy Tail united after Avatar/before Alvarez. They also all fought during the Dragon attack in the Eclipse Gate, Tartaros(not much) and Alvarez. I love that Wendy's support magic isn't thrown away and her Enchanments let the whole guild shine. I don't mind Brandish showing up and it makes sense, she did already appear during the Mercphobia arc and say she'd be searching the continent. I do kind of wish they'd put the short a few episodes earlier so it doesn't feel so last minute though.
Oh and Lucy has been able to use the Aquarius Star Dress since Tartaros when she first summoned the king and gave up Aquarius' key. She used it to defeat Jackal and has been able to use it ever since as a parting gift from Aquarius. I hope this helps as a reminder, sorry for the long comments! Reslly enjoying these reactions
This comment is about Ep 16 Natsu´s second character development is finally here! but a part of the subtitle is wrong he felt really bad for using Zeref´s curse in comparsion to that subtitle in anime version *This was the power that tormented Zeref That left him in despair, I feel like a bit of a jerk using it like this* That line they added in anime *Was it cruel of me to use his power like this?* Should have been *I feel like a bit of a jerk using it like this* Even the france subtitle was a bit closer to the manga compared to the english one *je ne suis pas très fier d'en faire usage desole grand frere* = *I'm not very proud to use it, sorry big brother* also the strange thing is that there´s even a another english subtitle that´s even closer to the manga I wonder whose idea of the translation team was to mess up the subtitle in a most important moment....
Also Im glad that the weak forgetable characters were given some spotlight. But thing is when we dirst saw those charactees at the start of the orihinal series, they were alot steonger than what's shown here. Oh and btw Ajeel is the spriggan that almost ki11 ed Erza on the air ship when they invaded Magnolia.

Actually the only one who has most bs fights constantly swearing on friends aka using power of friendship is Erza
