So, minor correction at 5:50. you dont have to be complicit in Guthix death. You can try to stop him, but Guthix tells you that he wants to die, and then makes you the guardian.

I really need to do more quests. For years I’ve always thought RuneScapes quests were so jumbled without much of a linear story but this has shown me wrong. Guess I’m getting quest cape soon
Haven't played since While Guthix Sleeps... or was it The World Wakes. (Where you kill Guthix) Come to this vid for lore catchup after watching your TLDR Elder God Wars recap. Holy hell I missed alot!!! But my favorite is where youtube cut to a commercial right as you said "what do Elder God's want to eat?"... and the ad was for Uber Eats McDonalds.
My favorite part of the lore is how the MC is a "yes man," and that the real moral of RS3 is not to be like them and use your brain before you help some random god that's made it clear they're vying for power.
The story of the game is actually pretty good ashamed that most people these days don’t really acknowledge that mostly due to RuneScape old age and how so many people are about the new new new new these days I bet it the mechanics and engine were tweaked a bit but the core story was kept the same or at least close enough it could make for a highly popular remastered game for a PC, Xbox, PlayStation and other alternative gaming devices. Text you a little surprising that Hollywood never tried to make a movie or spin off show off of this game due to how popular it used to be.
Guthix and Seren. Guthix's home planet was first attacked by Sara because his race the Naragi refuse to follow Sara. Sara attacked and tried to take over but during the war Sara's power attracted Tuska. She came and her Airut followers. Tuska is here to drain the anima of the planet and get Sara's hat. Sara realized what he was doing and decided that he's gonna protect the Naragi race. Bla bla. Tuska, Sara and Naragi race all fought each other. Sara realized that he's losing so he and his followers left. Later another ancient god Skaragaroth powerful as Tuska landed and he was after Tuska. Skaragaroth hunts big strong beast for fun. Tuska and him battle bla bla. One night there was a battle while Guthix was out looting for food. Skaragaroth was fighting Tuska. He manage to blind one of her eye with his sword(Sword of Eddict). Tuska responded by back knocking him over and he fall on top of Guthix's house killing Guthix's daughter. After witness the whole battle Guthix took the sword and stabbed Skaragroth. Guthix end up getting Skara's power and became a powerful God. Tuska tried to attack Guthix but Guthix defended himself and fully blinded Tuska. Tuska fled and left the planet. Guthix has became what he hated the most. He realize that he can instant travel planet to planet. He left his planet. He travel planets to planets and seen how gods destroyed planets he spent long time like 100+ years being alone. Later he came across the Elf's planet and encountered Seren. Seren realize and know how powerful Guthix is also by this time Seren already left Mah. Guthix and Seren became friends and spend YEARS together. (There's the whole Seren's story too). Anyway..Guthix left Seren, he explored more planets, came across human races, gnome and dwarfs who are untouched by the other gods. He bought these races over, later he travel back to Elf planet and tell Seren. Seren decided to come with Guthix and bought most of the elves over. The elves and Seren settle keep in the west mountains. Of course..the humans, dwarfs and gnome started to worship Guthix and he didn't like it. He told Seren that maybe they should both leave or stay away but Seren refused because she turn the Elves into needing her. So Guthix went into a slumber deep and sleep. Of course..years or hundreds of YEARS after that is when Zaros came and thus the God Wars came. Some lore hounds or rumor said that Guthix was fully aware of the Elder Gods during his slumber. Zaros said that Guthix created us the player. So speaking..only the Elder Gods are able to create life forms out of thin air. Somehow Guthix who isn't born as a god who got his powers from killing some god somehow was able to create us the player, banish all the other gods and whatever. For Zaros he said during his travel to the lower planets he saw the imperfect creations by the elder gods. Also there is the whole EASTERN LANDS which "still has its own active protective barrier" that prevents the other Gods from going there even after Guthix died. It said that Bandos was at the EASTERN LANDS at one point, recruited a lot of Cyclops and moved to the WEST and joined the God Wars.
Just heard about this video from your podcast with protox and them. This is such a great video!!! You deserve more views and subs!!! Please make a bigger more in-depth lore video! I'd totally be interested as long as it doesn't make me exp waste (which is why I spacebar LOL). The way you presented this video actually makes me realize that RS lore is very interesting and I'd totally be interested in learning more XD just not in a format that makes me read on screen while interrupting my gameplay lol.

i dont quite agree with the idea of zaros not caring about us. i think he is just going about saving the world in a way that is different from what we expect. he did after all say that he wanted to achieve elder godhood in order to save mortal life from the great revisions
RuneScape did an excellent job giving everyone flaws. How the handle gods is one of the best handlings I've seen. Usually gods are unkillable immortals. Here, they're immortal but killable and are very relatable. RuneScape lore is so fantastic and I consider it a world building source, due to how unique it is. It's actually why I got into worldbuilding. Some of my races are based off of RuneScape stuff
But is guthix an elder god?? I hope he comes back at the end of the event with a biig plot twist. or maybe we get a new dimension/world with new gods and bosses for max players.
Zaros isnt going to use maw core as an offering to the other elder God to become one. He using the crown to find elder artifact that are in the erebus which means those elder god that are dead may be in erebus and is probably returning maw core to the shadow variant of maw as an offering for maw to turn zaros into an elder God
know what im realizing most rs content creators need to do? return in touch to new players. im not but im realizing im seeing so much on newer player having issues. go back to makin general content for the new people to understand the game and where to go pretty much after they land in taverly or whatever. explain what to expect at like level 50-80 for any skill those kinds of content needs to come back not a bad thing at all against the current content. just need to remember that there are noobs around that need help and guidance and the good content creators arnt there for that.

Meh. Lowkey the story lately just feels rushed. I dunno. The story of Runescape will always be the story of Guthix. To me anyway. All this six age, great revision, new gods stuff just feels like a fanfiction and just doesn't interest me. Now while guthix sleeps, now there's a story.
None. Originally, Guthix, Saradomin, and Zarmorak were brothers. The stone of jas was literally an artifact of Saradomin. Then Zaros / Bandos / Armadyl were introduced and they were below Guthix but above Saradomin and Zamorak. All of this was still elder gods.

This is soooo confusing. I only know the gods Zamorak, Guthix and Saradomin and always thought that they created the world.
they are gods by power and influence the obtained items created by the elder gods. the only true gods are sereñ and zaros
