And Chris is there because of Sheila. She made a dedicated effort to bring in the best possible football people.

Chris excels at mental toughness. That's exactly what the Lions need not to be nervous in the Superbowl.

The real reason they have outsmarted the NFL is by hiring former players as coaches and developing them, now smart players that are looking ahead and want to eventually get into coaching choose Detroit. They have nailed every aspect of team

Jack Campbell was really good too - had 52 solo tackles which was 4th. for rookies. Played 17 games. Nowhere to go but up with him. Brodric Martin needs to step it up if he wants to keep with the outstanding 2023 draft picks.

    • @thomaswatkins3686
      @thomaswatkins3686 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

Tackles mean nothing for LBs. Ernie Sims had hundreds. They were all 9 yards down field

It looks like Martin has seriously slimmed down and bulked up muscularly in preparation for the 2024 season.
As a quicker, stronger, and more seasoned DL, I think we're going to see a lot more of him on the field this year.
And I think his positive contributions to the defense could very well be significant.

Also people forget, LB is notoriously a difficult position to come in and do well year 1. I suspect a jump in his play this year

Honestly, I love drafts under this leadership. I know I probably won't know of who we're drafting, but I know they'll be good eventually. I don't always get it, but I trust the process.

It's like I said before: the pick of Sewell will eventually be seen in the same light as Pittsburgh's selection of Mean Joe Greene in 1969. That pick was the catalyst for turning a franchise that had NEVER won a playoff game in its history into the Steel Curtain and four rings.
    In Brad we trust.

  • @Ott3r

Best coach, gm, and roster setup I can remember for the last 30 years. I thought they had good chance from 08-13. Once Stafford, CJ and Suh were drafted. But they didn't have depth at OL, RB, LB or DB. So those teams got bounced in the playoffs.

    • @scottjones1109

It's really all about talent acquisition in this league and that expertise is exactly what Brad Holmes excels at.
First & second round picks are typically going to give you NFL quality talent.
It's in finding quality players with the lower picks where the best teams excel - and that's where some of Brad Holmes' most impressive genius lies.

Lions receivers and running backs block unlike any other team. And it's everyone; St. Brown, Gibbs, Williams, Reynolds, Raymond, everyone. I wonder if that is evaluated in PFF scores.

20% of the best NFL players under 25 are Detroit Lions?
    That's just amazing.
How can there be ANY controversy about this statement:
The very best GM in the National Football League IS Brad Holmes - he's running roughshod over the whole of the NFL with his genius & unmitigated success.

Stroud was a rookie last year. Let's see if the sophomore jinx comes into play. Sewell has been a top lineman for three years now and is showing no signs of diminishing. He deserves the #1 spot.
