I'm 38 years old, I remember playing LA when it dropped on GB and again on GBC. Kids these days will never know the excitement of standing in line for a physical copy of a game only to not be able to play it until the sun comes up because you can't see the screen! HAHAHA!

Thanks for watching my videos. I’m not going to be changing things up permanently. This was a fun video to make, but not really what I do on a daily basis. There are a million other channels trying to be funny, there are only a few that attempt to deliver a cohesive and entertaining story from start to finish. I try to do the latter.

I actually have all 3 versions of Links Awakening, and I myself thought your voice was great, it's very slow and deliberate and gets your point across well. Your answer to the individuals who thought your videos were most humorous! I'm amazed no one has given me grief for my recent episodes that I've done in a more cinematic style for the opening credits, as I wanted to first, let the credits breathe and unfold in a slower fashion, and second, as I'm a fan of allegorical statements and things, I wanted to put subtle things in my cinematic beginning credits as well. Links awakening has always been one of my favorite zelda games. I remember the first time i played it it was around zeldas 25th anniversary. I would listen to the zelda orchestra cd while playing this game on my gba sp in the middle of the night. Good memories

Oh hey just a status update sense you’re last video I’ve beaten Metroid dread, super Metroid, and donkey kong country and I’ve started Kirby’s dream land 3 and a link between worlds. I’ve also opted out of getting the snes new 3ds xl and instead plan to buy a black one, I can’t afford the snes edition and I’m planning to do a shell swap in the future. Its also nice to see a video on my current favorite Zelda game, thanks for the video these always make my day.

I love Link's Awakening. I played it like crazy on the original Game Boy when I was younger. Before the Switch came out, I got stuck on an airplane waiting for a storm to pass by. I ended up playing the DX version on my 3DS and had an absolute blast with it. It holds up really well!
One thing I may love more than Link’s Awakening is this video lol!😆 Don’t listen to the negative comments, I really enjoy your video-making style!
Also, this game was the first one my non-gaming family actually sat and watched me play. We all loved the story and going through the dungeons together. Can’t wait for your next vid!

I'm glad you came back to watch this video! I do my best to reply to everybody that took time out of their day to watch and comment because I really appreciate it. There's so many other things they could be doing instead of watching my videos. I know there are other channels that lock content behind a paywall, which is fine. Unlike some of those channels, I don't depend on mine for my livelihood. This is all a side project for me. It's great for sharpening my film making and photography skills.
The way you make your videos is the reason I subscribed and iam sure iam not alone, i dont really care about the fun part, ilts not the purpose here, i love the tone of your voice when you talk about your experience on different games, i find it unique, i am 33 so watching someone throwing games in toilet is not really what iam looking for. Anyway what i wanted to say is you will never be able to satisfy everyone, maybe different videos with different styles would work, as for me i love the drama you add and the way you approach each topic

I've always wanted to play this game and a couple of months ago I finally decided to play it, but also decided to create my own Game Boy emulator to do it. I'm like 80% of the way to being able to play the original version properly. I just need to iron out some nasty audio sync issues.

Hey I’m thinking of starting a channel where I do animations and discus game as I play them sense my collection is so small I figured I could use the channel as a sort of record of my collection and my first experiences with these games. I guess what I’m trying to get at is do you have any tips or pointers for me?
That's awesome! I would love to see what you come up with. My one bit of advice would be to plan out all of your shots before you begin. I used to find myself going back for shots I needed, which made me setup my set and cameras all over again. Just stay organized and have a plan.
I bought a Samus shirt from Nintendo’s online store. I thought I was going to get great mileage out of it. I thought I was going to get great mileage out of it. I thought I was goin...... I wore it once and the print immediately started to peel of. I spent $35 to were the shirt once..... I am beyond unhappy I actually like the shirt to I even got a matching orange dress shirt.

I beat the original back on my Android long ago. I really need to jump back into the remake, but I’m more into the 3D games.

The remake is really good! All the changes they made make it the most playable version.

I love this game! It’s really quirky and full of charm. If you like top down Zelda games, you will most likely enjoy this one.
This was the first game I played on my Switch Lite, my first Nintendo console since my gameboy color in the late 90s.
It was a great game didn’t blow me away tho, the combat was a little to easy. But there were some times I absolutely had to look something up on a guide on the internet like when you are stuck in the forest in the very beginning of the game. I don’t have the patience for stuff like that lol.
I have never felt the urge to replay it like I do with 80% of the single player games I play. Maybe before Breath of the wild 2 comes out I’ll revisit it.
Please don’t be more like Scott the Woz he is entertaining but a little too try hardy if that’s even a word ;)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the game. I played it at a really young age where I had plenty of time to burn figuring out all the little quirks it has. Trying to put time like that into a video now that I'm older, it doesn't happen often.

I think you should definitely ignore the people who want more "fun" and "silliness". There are hundreds of other Nintendo-related TH-camrs out there who thrive on that sort of thing, but sometimes you want something a little more serious. I've only just stumbled onto this channel today, but I MUCH prefer this serious style of video; it's unique and stands out way more to me.
Thank you for watching this video and commenting. As you can see, I'm not very good at making silly/fun videos. The arc of this video was to start out silly, transition slowly into a serious tone as I realized that all the characters in the game will disappear when Link wakes up, then "remember" that I was making a fun/silly video again at the end. I thought that would be a good way to show that I'm not changing my style to suit someone else's idea of how I should be making and writing videos. I hope that came across at least a little in the video.
@@NeanderMeander I actually thought this WAS a really fun video, proving that you can do well in both styles, and I did quite like the ending transitioning to a more serious tone.
But yes, I could have guessed from the snarky tone of this one (which is really just another facet of "fun" and "silly") that you would not be doing more videos in this style, and I'm glad to hear it; can't wait to see more :D

I've thought about doing that. My only worry is the process changing when the eshop goes down. It will make the video worthless if that happens. Though, who cares if it does, right?
the homebrew community has basically created their own eshop and suite of applications and it’s essentially like owning a new console, so i for one would love to see a video of yours on the topic

I have mixed feelings on this game. While I loved the art style and getting to play link's awakening on current gen hardware I hated the fps drops and the studdering on the screen. I really wish nintendo spent more time ensuring solid FPS on their games. If the FPS drops don't bother you and you can get the game on sale or for really cheap second hand then I say grab it and play it.
I’ve always wondered why Nintendo never updated this game to run more smoothly. Seems like something that could have gone a long way to show how much faith they have in the game and respect for the players.
@@NeanderMeander yeah if you look at mario kart, smart and mario odyssey they all run at a solid 60 fps. There's no reason they couldn't spend the time to make links awakening run at it too.

To whittle down Scott's humor into just screaming, it's insulting. He makes some of the most tightly written and clever youtube videos out there, you literally chose the worst person to make your point of "scream = funny." Like seriously, do you even watch his videos? I get the point you're trying to make, you were making fun of a hater. But in doing so, you hated on some youtuber who absolutely doesn't deserve it, falsely portraying his content. Taking a recurring joke out of context. You're better than this, and I mean that. You ARE better than this.
Whoa, I think you're taking this video way to seriously. This was a satire on a comment that means absolutely nothing. It is in noway a deep dive on what makes Scott the Woz a TH-cam juggernaut and amazing talent. Yes, I have watched his videos and agree with you that he has some of the most tightly written and clever videos. This video wasn't meant to focus Scott or James (he was in that segment too). All shade was pointed at the comment left. I think you missed the entire point of the video. I added that into the video to show that I need to loosen up in my videos instead of being so serious about it. Obviously he's really good at making funny content and having people enjoy it. There's a reason why I chose those two people. They are great at what they do. I'm not sure why you're taking the Scott and AVGN section so personally.

As someone from the outside, someone who doesn't watch your videos, it seemed like you were making a larger criticism on the youtube meta of screaming into a mic to make babies laugh. The assertion being that Scott was one of those youtubers, (since you were taking notes from him) and that you are one of the few youtubers above that sort of thing. I see now that it was ALL satire, which I knew it was to an extent of course. But with the overall sarcastic tone of the segment, I couldn't tell where the joke ended and where your actual thoughts began. You did mention your dry delivery after all, maybe that was a part of it. I shouldn't take things so seriously though, maybe I'm the one who needs to funny scream more.

Amazing video, i love how you actually managed to take every criticism to heart, while still taking the piss out of everyone. Even though i like your normally more monotone and cold delivery, this was a very nice change of pace
I'm glad you liked it. I'll be honest, I wasn't sure how it would be received. I thought maybe I would have come off as being bitter and angry. I also wasn't sure if the jokes would land. Hopefully they did.
