The public just don’t want EVs. 95% of EVs are fleet vehicles, but companies and councils using them because they get tax breaks when buying them. The average working man doesn’t want EVs because they’re too expensive to buy, too expensive to run and too expensive to maintain. That’s not even taking into consideration there just isn’t the infrastructure in place for mass ownership of EVs. It would take an engineering feat the likes of which the world has never seen to build the charging infrastructure required to meet the Labour governments policy of the ban on fossil fuel vehicles.
Easy answer I do not want to drive around in a mobile Molotov Cocktail and have my insurance sky rocket , plus the market is in the down trend , they still do not get the mental "Green dream " impossibility ???
Jaguar want to move upmarket with a starting price of £110,000 minimum. Current Jaguar owners being disenfranchised will make it far more difficult for them to sell cars when there aren’t woke people who can afford Jag’s new price point. Also going all electric too early makes no sense whatsoever. Even Bentley has pushed back on this
I really wanted a Jaguar XE, but had three BMWs in the time it was available because it was not tax competaive ( high C02 from launch ) . If it had been competitive it would have had a chance but it wasn't . We have the best engineering in the world for cars ( F1 especially ) in the UK , if they had invested in winning that key war the cars would have sold. They did not address it , why?

I have an EV. A Skoda Enyaq Sportline. It's fast, quiet and comfortable. A great car. Everyone that gets in it is surprised how good it is. Is it the media or the 'ice' fans that cause the hate? It does over 300 miles on a charge, I love it.
I'm delighted with the quietness of it. At least you won't be breaking any noise pollution laws when you launch someone in the air cos they didn't hear your prat mobile purring out of nowhere and couldn't react in time...

I wanted to change to an EV until I found that I couldn't get insurance on the Nissan Leaf and when I did get a quote it was over £3,600
