You joke about the business beach suit there, but I'm legit curious how well that 4 pound PLA crop top would handle in the sun or in chlorinated pool/salty ocean water. Not curious enough to spend 100+ hours running into full print bed sized failures, mind you, but I do wonder if it'd melt, if it wouldn't get as heavy as a normal soaked t-shirt, etc.
Also, the "how it fits without a shirt under it" bit was interesting because I would have expected it to be a lot more see-through, but even with the gaps so it can move and such, it turns into a relatively solid texture?

Great comments!! To my knowledge, PLA does swell as it breaks down in water over many months so maybe for one afternoon it could be fine, but for multiple the links might start to lock up with each other as the ball and socket swelled. Maybe I’ll go take this sucker out to the beach and post an update haha
The link design in the video is actually version 7 of the way they interlock. I spent a while optimizing there fit to get the snap I wanted, the flexibility, but also to minimize the gaps so you couldn’t see through super easily. I think the gaps were nominally 1.2mm and the play will add or take away from that. If you are up close you can see through some.
