To be honest I haven't, one simple reason is that all of my radio's are HT . So I have two many + I have the 878ii plus and the hd1 & hd2 . The thought of doing a fresh install of the code plug as I don't have one on the 878 is just to much work , time consuming lol. The best person to ask is Chris 2E0UKH watch his TH-cam on the 168 😊

At some point you will need to update your codeplug and even the firmware. So connect to a PC would be necessary at some point . I don't know if the radio can be programmed by the from keyboard
