Pile #1: I'm not an active viewer but I thought it would be good for me to express my gratitude and switch things up. Thank you for the message Eso! It was very needed and I greatly appreciate it. I am an artist and have started to realize more and more that all of these creative abilities I have are for a divine purpose. I have a hard time giving myself credit, telling myself I'm talented, and being kind to myself when I'm in a bad mental space. I tend to overwork and burn myself out because I genuinely forget that what I do takes hard work and energy and I subconciously (and conciously) convince myself I don't deserve any good outcome that comes out of it. This has been something that I have been working on and I think that is the one block standing in my way. To be on topic and a little off topic I am going to share a story. This year for my life drawing college course class we had to make an interpretive self portrait for our final project. The piece I made was about how even the smallest thought, or "seed", that is planted can grow more than you could ever imagine, good or bad. Since I was going through a lot of tower moments at the time I made the piece about my anxiety and how the thoughts can be overwhelming so much so to where it effects me physically. I drew foxglove and wolfsbane (both poisonous flowers) to represents the toxic thoughts in ones mind. I got a 98 on the project, it was praised by my teacher and classmates. When I showed my teacher my project as a WIP and explained to him my idea, he told me that i seemed to have a solid and interesting concept, and that there was a lot more meaning and depth to my project than the other students. I was flattered obviously, however I would tell people this interaction and counteract that with "Well I had thought of this concept months ago so of course its going to be more developed. the other students are probably making up these concepts on the spot. I am just recycling an idea" I remember telling my boyfriend this and then immediately going "wow its like I'm literally jumping hoops to avoid giving myself credit". That was the one instance that made me realized how normalized my overly critical and unforgiving my thought process was to myself. I realized how absolutely amazing and supportive everyone in my life is. How my best friend, my boyfriend, my mom, my voice teacher, all LOVE to show people my art and other creative projects. Like there are people in my life who show me off like crazy and i didn't even realized the extent of it until i started writing this comment. I dont even really put myself "out there" i just take opportunities when they are given to me. Even when I don't like to show my art myself, it spreads like wildfire and I get contacted by mutuals through people offering me opportunities with things I've never done before. Everyone that comes to me trusts me. Like, two years ago I drew a cover for a poetry book my sister was publishing. During that summer she contacts me and tells me that her therapist bought the book and really loves the design and wants me to do a mural in his office. I have painted my walls before but I never did a professional job before. That summer I painted a mural in a liscened therapists office. I was 16 with no prior experience and yet, this man trusted me to paint in his place of work. A couple months ago my sisters friend contacted me and said she was interested in an illustrator for a story she was posting on her personal website. I have never done an illustrator job, and yet I did that with her for a month until she got her story picked up by a publisher. The moral of the story here: I realize that even with my shitty minbdsets, I cant control what happens and the opportunities that come to me, and thats in a good sense! I can treat myself like shit all I want, my family still loves and supports me, and theres always someone whos interested. God only knows how much my vibration is going to shift once I have fully freed myself from these thoughts patterns. Pile #1: I'm not an active viewer but I thought it would be good for me to express my gratitude and switch things up. Thank you for the message Eso! It was very needed and I greatly appreciate it. I am an artist and have started to realize more and more that all of these creative abilities I have are for a divine purpose. I have a hard time giving myself credit, telling myself I'm talented, and being kind to myself when I'm in a bad mental space. I tend to overwork and burn myself out because I genuinely forget that what I do takes hard work and energy and I subconciously (and conciously) convince myself I don't deserve any good outcome that comes out of it. This has been something that I have been working on and I think that is the one block standing in my way.
To be on topic and a little off topic I am going to share a story. This year for my life drawing college course class we had to make an interpretive self portrait for our final project. The piece I made was about how even the smallest thought, or "seed", that is planted can grow more than you could ever imagine, good or bad. Since I was going through a lot of tower moments at the time I made the piece about my anxiety and how the thoughts can be overwhelming so much so to where it effects me physically. I drew foxglove and wolfsbane (both poisonous flowers) to represents the toxic thoughts in ones mind. I got a 98 on the project, it was praised by my teacher and classmates. When I showed my teacher my project as a WIP and explained to him my idea, he told me that i seemed to have a solid and interesting concept, and that there was a lot more meaning and depth to my project than the other students. I was flattered obviously, however I would tell people this interaction and counteract that with "Well I had thought of this concept months ago so of course its going to be more developed. the other students are probably making up these concepts on the spot. I am just recycling an idea" I remember telling my boyfriend this and then immediately going "wow its like I'm literally jumping hoops to avoid giving myself credit".
That was the one instance that made me realized how normalized my overly critical and unforgiving my thought process was to myself. I realized how absolutely amazing and supportive everyone in my life is. How my best friend, my boyfriend, my mom, my voice teacher, all LOVE to show people my art and other creative projects. Like there are people in my life who show me off like crazy and i didn't even realized the extent of it until i started writing this comment. I dont even really put myself "out there" i just take opportunities when they are given to me. Even when I don't like to show my art myself, it spreads like wildfire and I get contacted by mutuals through people offering me opportunities with things I've never done before. Everyone that comes to me trusts me. Like, two years ago I drew a cover for a poetry book my sister was publishing. During that summer she contacts me and tells me that her therapist bought the book and really loves the design and wants me to do a mural in his office. I have painted my walls before but I never did a professional job before. That summer I painted a mural in a liscened therapists office. I was 16 with no prior experience and yet, this man trusted me to paint in his place of work. A couple months ago my sisters friend contacted me and said she was interested in an illustrator for a story she was posting on her personal website. I have never done an illustrator job, and yet I did that with her for a month until she got her story picked up by a publisher.
The moral of the story here: I realize that even with my shitty minbdsets, I cant control what happens and the opportunities that come to me, and thats in a good sense! I can treat myself like shit all I want, my family still loves and supports me, and theres always someone whos interested. God only knows how much my vibration is going to shift once I have fully freed myself from these thoughts patterns. My advice to any Pile #1 viewer who struggles with the feeling of deserving their success A) I've been there and I understand and B) that sucks for you kiddo, beacuse youre going to have supporters whether you like it or not.If you cant beat them, join them! Theres nothing conceited or "cocky" about being your own #1 fan!!!!!

I picked pile 3 and I’m only a few minutes in, but I wanted to comment how much it’s already resonating. I’m not gonna dive into all of the stuff that happened, but one of my recent battles was losing someone in my family to fentanyl. Back to back I had so many losses, but that one hit me the hardest and what has me coming to the comment section right away is that her name was Ashley and we all called her “Ash”… that was the first card you flipped over and my heart sunk a little (in a good, yet intense way).
