The is the number one reason to have kids. So you can give them your old stuff and have a perfect excuse to buy new stuff.

Absolutely! When my son got his black belt he casually mentioned something about a Traxxas slash 4x4 RC car......I got it the next day....I mean I got it for him the next day. lol

Stumpjumper was first made in 1981. It was the first production mountain bike. Before that the first bikes were custom made in Marin county and Palo Alto.

    Edit- It was an '88.

My 1st expensive bike that I bought with my own money was a stump jumper that I bought in D.C. in 1990. I paid $600!!!!!! in 1990! I miss it too.

@@mixflip That 2010 looks like a nice clean bike. I would love to find one around here, but MANY of them burned up in the Rogue Valley Oregon fires a couple weeks back...along with cars/trucks so bikes and motor vehicles are very scarce now.

@@mixflip Yes sir. Before the dang bike trail was built, my friends and I could ride along the river, i had a Yamaha 125 Enduro. I couldn't buy a motocross bike then
didn't have my AMA card, yet. We could holster/carry a .22 cal, Lov My Henry...and then local Leos wouldnt blink an eye. A few times, my friend Dennis had a ffew too
many Mickeys one day..the cops back then would take us home, and with a laugh, would say, "don't let this happen again". And over the years, my folks kept telling me
to learn to appreciate these days. I didn't give it a second thought....boy was i wrong. I still ride from Watt - Folsom Lake, jump in and try and remember the good ole days.

@@gregormiller4037 I know right.....we always think things are bad when we are young.....then 20 years later we realize....I guess it wasn't so bad lol. I used to leave home on my BMX bike in the am....ride with my friends all day until sundown....no cell phones....no courtesy phone call to my parents where I was. They raised me the best they could and I guess they just prayed I made good choices as a teen running around in the 80's. I didn't die or go to jail so I guess they did something right. I would never let my 13 year old do today what I did back then.
Maybe that's part of the problem though???????????

Glad to see you Battle.. Remember I said stooopid shyte about getting my wife a Espresso Machine with OT... When Ca Magazine Freedom Week II came out?
I actually cried about it ... These fires in California (El Dorado/Bobcat fire is what I've been working with our Strike Team with OCFA in Southern Ca) had me actually weep when I remembered I commented about that. We lost a USFS Firefighter (stupid baby reveal fire!) and many people died (26!) and countless homes/ranches and livestock, pets and wild animals. After our fellow firefighter died, I couldn't anymore... I had to let it go and my coworkers understood to let it go and leave me alone (they knew I'm a vet of this current war we're in too and lost quite a few battle buddies).
I never in my life regretted anything I've ever said... I'm sorry about. I was going to delete it, I decided that's it's a good reminder not to jinx yourself...
    Good upload Battle,

@@mixflip Thanks, I'm at the station and I saw your notification come up. I usually stay off the net at work but I've been so down about saying that... We worked El Dorado too. Since Sept 8 we've been working those fires..
Our Team is to rotate for the next one...
People think urban/city fire fighters don't work those fires but all counties have Strike Teams. Most of these guys started out in Forestry.
Thanks Battle. It's great to get encouragement..

@@on2wheels378 I used to be an industrial firefighter for Tesoro Refinery in the 00's so I can relate to a certain degree. When I see Reno covered in smoke from Cali fires I can't help but imagine what hell is being unleashed over the mountain in Cali. If my chief would let me cross state lines to help I would. We are preparing to hold the line with antifa here in 30 days so I have a feeling everyone will be pushed to the limit soon. (post election violence seems inevitable)

@@mixflip My cousin (flip side) was a truck driver for TOSCO/Union 76 back then, he did the same thing, dual role. Drove gas trucks but was a refinery FF when needed. Those are scary fires... I've never worked one but I hear the stories from FF who have and lateraled over to our County (LA City, Suburb, LA County latterals).
I hope there isn't any violence. I have faith our country will right itself once again...

Nice bike! I have a Cannondale 8 series aluminum M400 that I bought back in 1993. All I do is tune it up and replace tires and parts as they ware out. I installed a wider seat, makes a lot more comfortable when I ride. Oh yea, I even have saddlebags for when the wife and I go riding in the woods. Carry lunch and extra water and first aid kit. Enjoy!
