9:01 In the 70s, I was at the launch of the ocean-going cargo ship Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya. It was built in the city of shipbuilders Nikolaev. The whole city gathered. Zoya's mother was also there. The cannons fired in honor of the brave girl during the descent, the orchestra played and everyone was extremely moved by the solemnity of the moment. I still remember this. And of course we all remember the stories of such heroes from childhood.

I don't know what other cultures and nations think, but I think that there is no safer and more peaceful place than a cemetery, because there you can rest your soul and body and think about the past, present and future, draw conclusions about some problem, about immortality, human coexistence and infinity, and rest your soul and body, I always leave the cemetery happy, never sad, I could sleep quite peacefully and get a good night's sleep there!there you realize that you are just a human guest on the planet, your own among your own, you encourage yourself for the future and realize that you have become from the earth and to the earth you will go, nothing terrible!

О, старые московские кладбища - это целая история! На Ваганьковском обрели покой Сергей Есенин и Владимир Высоцкий, на Введенском - Николай Озеров и Федор Гааз и многие-многие другие.

The name Luzhniki derives from the flood meadows in the bend of Moskva River where the stadium was built, translating roughly as "The Meadows"

The area that we call Luzhniki today has been inhabited since ancient times. The first mention of it can be found in the chronicle from 1638, which describes the settlement of Malye Luzhniki, near the New Maiden Monastery.

Super interesting cemetery, they are several famous cemeteries in the world, as Pere Lachaise in Paris, the Jewish cemetery in Praha, and the Recoleta in Buenos Aires, I can
imagine that Italy must have some, I know that there is a Genoese that go back to the
late Roman Empire, and Milan's that that is a skyscraper.
We can say that there are also several interesting cemeteries in Moscow and St. Petersburg

А еще это реальность, а не голливудщина, здесь и горе и счастье и добро и зло и прошлое и будущее, особенно, когда лежат свежие цветы и могилка заботливо ухожена, значит родные друзья и поклонники воспитаны правильно и несут твоё знамя дальше. И очень странно, потому что это место мёртвых, но всё оживает и в твоём сердце и в твоей памяти и эмоции, оживают образы и деяния. И люди ставшие историей и внёсшие свою каплю в сегодняшний мир, становятся гораздо реалистичнее именно там, чем просто в разговоре или в книге, или на фото. Кладбище это сильнейший артефакт общества и человечества.😊🌹

It is very funny to hear that the Luzhniki were named after Luzhkov (the former mayor of Moscow)..😅The name Luzhniki originates from the word "luzhnik" - "a small meadow, a meadow among puddles, lakes". The territory of the Luzhniki used to be covered with a meadow, which was flooded by the Moskva River in high water. After the decline of the water, there were many puddles-lakes. Due to the danger of military incursions and the threat of almost annual floods, this low-lying coast was built up slowly.

By no means, the stadium and the area known as Luzhniky was named after the corrupt mayor of Moscow Yuriy Luzhkov. The original historic name comes after the village absord by the city of Moscow, which is typical for other toponims as well.

The first mention of Luzhniki dates back to the 15th century. It was a fairly vast territory southwest of Moscow, which began to be actively developed by the beginning of the 17th century. It is believed that the name of these lands came from the vast meadows in the bend of the Moscow River.
Construction of the stadium began in March 1955 and lasted 450 days. The construction in the south-west of Moscow was a matter of national importance, volunteers from all over the country took part in it.
Luzhkov had nothing to do with it...
I love it when even Russians can’t even agree on history while refuting a point. 😆

Сам монастырь вообще-то исторически один из самых знаменитых. Во-первых как и все другие - это государева крепость, денег у русского государства вечно не было, так что монастыри, богатевшие на земельных и денежных вкладах "на помин души" надо было как-то использовать. Вот во-первых это было строительство стен и защитных сооружений, гарнизона и припасов для "осадного сидения", а позднее и "наряда"(то есть пушек, боеприпасов и прислуги). Во-вторых обучение, богадельни, странноприимные дома и забота о старых и увечных. Как работала тогдашняя система соцподдержки в монастырях не знаю, честно говоря, а вот за оборонительными функциями следили строго. В-третьих в церкви и монастыри отдавали на хранение заключённые договора, насколько помню, логика тут простая и понятная, вроде как святые люди, отрешены от мирского, не обманут и если что засвидетельствуют.
Конкретно Новодевичий - место, куда постригались представительницы практически всех знатнейших московских и не только родов вплоть до царевен и цариц. Жена царя - это навсегда и после его смерти или в результате развода чаще всего царицы принимали постриг. Причины разводов бывали разные, но официально чаще всего две - неспособность родить наследника или супружеская измена, смутно припоминаю, что кого-то обвиняли в колдовстве и опоении неким "зельем", но запамятовал, было ли это связано непосредственно с царём. Путь после такого был ровно один - в монастырь и скорее всего именно в этот. Могли, конечно, и на тот свет спровадить, но в отношении женщин такое всё же бывало нечасто. Так что гламурнейшее место было и без кладбища, сплошь высшая знать.

I mean, in Russian, half are words and half is rythm, because his words go in weird way. Something like rap. Mayakovsky is a poet rapper for me.
