So im currently on no social media and prefer it that way.

The App stores aren't the only services on US soil, let's not forget they are almost certainly using cloud services or have their own servers on US soil, having to seve video from overseas at that scale simply isn't practical. At a minimum they are CDN nodes in the US that need to be blocked from delivering TikTok content.
