Zathura - Nightmares and Confusion!!!

Okay, the part where I say "This is one of the dumbest parts of the movie I think..."
I may have just forgot to say the reason why I said that in the first place, i had reasons, but for some reason they didn't make it into the video, those being...
-Why is Walter so accepting of a Robot? I know he's shown to have toys but for something as significant as the robot in this movie, a mention of the robot beforehand would have been nice. Walter's character immediately has the attitude of "Of course I have a Robot" rather than "Wait I have a Robot?" WHY??? If the game just gave him a Robot as part of the game, why did it not specify that was it's goal, instead saying "Your Robot is defective" WHAT ROBOT?!? The Robot just casually walks in and they're both like "Oh yeah, that's my robot"
-Why does the robot grow to become the marching death machine it becomes? I thought the "Malfunction" was that it wants to kill Walter, not it growing 8 feet, "Maybe it's their imagination" but that's never specified, and Lisa gets involved too so that's a mute point.
