Konnichiwa; actually if you remove the nuts and bolts to dismantle the crankshaft; you can clean the sludge and NO need to balance anything. Balancing is when you CHANGE the connecting rods mainly. Even with new pistons still you can go without balancing. Is FAR better to clean the sludge (these older crankshafts are easier to clean than the new ones with the tube) than not to do it. Again, no necessity to balance due to that. Hope that helps to decided to do it right. EDIT: never saw tat way to remove the bushes. Very interesting. Arigatou gozaimasu
