- Deputy President William Ruto has called on the president to rein in officials at the office of the president for engaging in what he termed scaremongering in the rift valley region. Addressing campaign rallies in the north rift, the DP claimed officials at op and national intelligence were at the center of hate leaflets in region to forment chaos and violence to trigger low voter turnout
