3:27 These part used to be my favorite part of this museum. Sadly they're gone as far as I saw back in January 2024. Meanwhile the exhibition room when the old Schindler machine was stored is never opened until now...
Sad to see it's now gone, and I'm glad I've filmed it before it got replaced. Now I'm wondering what happened to the ancient electrical components that were displayed in the old elevator.
Honestly was quite surprised to see this elevator gone and replaced by Sigma, I thought it was a different elevator and I just couldnt find this old elevator lol. RIP.
It's really disappointing considering the old elevator was historic and they replaced it with a cheap China made elevator that wouldn't last longer! Very glad I've filmed this.
So this is special elevator…. Sorry that I delisted my original video about the Starlift book. It was a video from my early days when I was inexperienced. I delisted it because I was afraid copyright problems as I showed a lot of photo’s in it. If I would make that video today I would do it differently and more as a book review. Still nice to see the actual lift, sadly it’s not working anymore.
Ah that's why your video wasn't available anymore. Luckily I've managed to snap some shots from the video that mentioned this building when it was owned by NHM, which are very useful for me to trace a little bit of Starlift's history in Indonesia. Unfortunately this historic elevator has been replaced into a cheap China made Sigma elevator very recently :( Now the only remaining Starlift in Indonesia that I know is at Bogor Agricultural Institute's Baranangsiang campus which is now derelict. Don't know if there are actually another Starlift elsewhere in the country, but we have an extremely rare vintage gated Stork-Husch elevator in Bandung.
