Also making super sure foil gel is cured is vital. I core for 90 seconds every time. Also quickly ripping it off works better than a slow peel and finally you can go back and fill missing spots after a full peel with quickly touching the foil to the bare area. I have no solutions for the creasing yet but I find it's not noticeable if you fill in the gaps after the first go around.

I used to struggle with foils too. Finally found that the Makartt foil glue was the thing that helped as well as having a good lamp (which I know isn't your issue). You have to be careful which Makartt foil gel you buy though. They have two. The one that's in the older packaging is the one you want. Once I got that stuff and replaced my lamp, it was smooth sailing from there on out.
I will say that - as someone who only uses hard gel - those forms did look nice. Clear forms are great for gel. Kind of confused as to why they'd include them with a budget acrylic kit since I'd think paper forms would be cheaper but 🤷‍♀️😂

The silicon tools really make a difference with the foils imo! I have a foil set that looks like it has about half of these same patterns. I used that pink disney summer foil with makartt foil glue gel...so that should be similar to tobeglam formula, I would think. I prep and cut my foils before I apply the gel so I can place and apply immediately after curing. It feels like you rub the foils forever, but if you want the full nail, it takes so much time and patience...laying the foil back down to rub the foil when areas are not sticking and hopefully get a better payoff. I also used a similar pink polygel as the base to help mask areas that didn't take. I hope that makes sense. Completely empathize and feel you tho...its tough! Your set is gorgeous anyways. They always come out bomb!

I was going to suggest the Makartt foil gel too. I dont know anything about packaging, but I order the 2-packs off Amazon & they work best out of all I've tried. Just make sure you don't over cure(I only go 30 sec), then after your nail comes out the lamp WAIT a couple minutes before you put the foil on. I dont know why it makes a difference but it does. And be sure to give the back of that foil a little LIGHT swipe of alcohol. If you have major curves and you don't want wrinkles cut some angular slits before applying the foil too. Then after you place the foil dont be afraid to be super aggressive with rubbing down the transfer, I've actually even used metal cuticle pushers but the main thing is dont be afraid to press too hard. Then once you do that, and you know its on good, rip it up quick.

Because you're using two different brands for base coat and transfer gel, not wiping the tacky layer of the base is probably you're issue.
Wipe the tacky layer or use the same brand and it should stop this from happening.
Foils also need something hard to rub them onto the transfer gel for the best results.

I have learned so much from you, i have to share with you what i have learned about transfer foils: I the milky white kind of glue with the yellow sticker, and when it dries and gets sticky, i can pull the foil to fit the nail without it creasing. the paper actually stretches!

This was one of the first acrylics I tried and I hated everything about it not even knowing a lot but just from watching enough people to know what I wanted my application to be like. Hopefully it’s gotten better over time and the monomer was definitely funky!!

Before watching your video, here's my opinion on this kit! 🥰
I got this kit a couple of years ago and the monomer is really strong (IMO but it could be I want used to the smell) and the acrylic dried too fast for me as a beginner... I'd have to do small beads. Also the brushes weren't that great, but I guess it's okay since I am a beginner? Idk... 😊

If your foils turn out to be trash like some I've bought off eBay, you can cut them and adhere them with gel or bling adhesive or encapsulate them with acrylic

I started with the same set. Iove the powders, but switched to a different monomer and they are much more durable. I also bought tips, and glue, and prefer tips to forms. I'm getting a 24 color acrylic and glitter set and bought a larger jar of clear. I'm building up and I like how it performs, and I think it's great for beginners. I busted out and ordered a 14 kolinsky on sale. Stuff comes tomorrow! Thanks for the vid!

Hi Evie I also had trouble with the foil sticking not sure if you tried already but I learned from someone here on TH-cam to wait like 30 secs after curing the foil transfer gel before trying to apply the foil this helped for me

Thank you for this review. I bought the set a month or so ago but haven’t used it just yet. I’m super nervous about acrylic bc last time I did it (using a kiss kit) it didn’t turn out good and it made me sad. I’m sure if I would’ve used this one and got similar results I would’ve decided not to do acrylic anymore.

Hey. I found with transfer foil no matter what foil glue i used it just wouldn't stick, it would just be patchy. But then i tried naio nails foil glue and wow its amazing it's so sticky, the foil sticks to the entire nail! Also when I'm rubbing the transfer foil on i use a cotton pad and use that to rub it on, works for me. Xx ❤️

The #12 look smaller than the #8 lol. And a silicone tool for those foils would make it SO much easier. Kinda the same idea as you said where your tools are just as important when speaking about the brushes. I found the foil gel and foils themselves matter too. I havent tried many foil gels myself, but the makartt one works real good. I died when you pulled it off and there was nothing. LOL. The struggle is definitely real with them things. I loved the design you ended up with though! U always know how to make some cheap products look great.

I have that problem too. Try cutting slits into the foil and matching where your nail would curve. Also, instead of doing the whole nail, do half of the nail and then the other half. Hope that helps, but your nails still came our wonderfully!!! 😊😊
