    My hometown girl Candy Dulfer, toured with the late Prince, her father is also a well known saxs player! Yes, Candy is dangerous on the saxs!!! You have place like the Blue Note club in CA, NYC, Hawaii, if you live in any of these states or even plan a trip to these regions. There is also place called Spaghettini in CA. Going to see next week Marcus Miller at the Blue Note and I am sure your dad must have heard of these two!

    Candy guested on sax with Pink Floyd live at Knebworth in 1990 on "Shine On You Crazy Diamond." Here: th-cam.com/video/2l0ZFLCNaZU/w-d-xo.html. It's an amazing performance. Candy was just 21 years old at the time.

    A classic statement and response a conversation between guitar and sax.

    Probably the closest you will ever come to hearing two instruments seduce each other. Dee was hysterical saying how hot she was. That’s what great music can do to you. Chod, take your lady out for an evening bro, she deserves it. 🍷🍹🍸🥂

    Candy Dulfer is one of Top Jazz Saxophonist in the Jazz world for over 25 years.....I first heard her play this song which became a jazz hit on NPR Jazz Radio Station in 1994.....Fell in love with the Sax playing on the song....and then later discovered that the Sax being played was a woman named "Candy." then I was so into her playing......Saw her play live at The Sacramento Jazz Festival.....and fell in love with her....She Rocked the place....and great jazz guitar player and drummer in her band..... She is the "REAL DEAL."

    it's amazing to think the world might not even know of Candy Dulfer if Dave Stewart hadn't specifically invited her to play saxophone for this duet!

    • @EJSmith-dk3yg
      @EJSmith-dk3yg ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Absolutely not ... Candy has been known long before she teamed w/ Stewart.
      She was actually invited by Prince to play on his show before Stewart.
      She has also played w/ Pink Floyd!

    What you are after is a jazz club, usually you have dinner and they have a lounge singer whilst you eat. You then sit back, relax whilst sipping cocktails and melt into the music.

    Not sure how the club scene in your area is but there are still some around here in Columbus, OH. Here they call it "Open Mic Night", which means anyone is welcome to come & play. I used to tote my guitar around to 4 or 5 different ones back in the 70's and 80's just to play with different players and genres of music. I'm 64 and still hit one now and then and there are allot of great players out there, young & old. You should check it out, even just too listen, you may be surprised.

    Great cocktail bar/club music video of Linda Ronstadt singing "I've Got a Crush on You": th-cam.com/video/KelraygLn2g/w-d-xo.html. It's got that great atmosphere of a jazz bar scene of the 1930's or 1940s, with just Linda and a piano.

    If you like seeing women rule the stage while they solo, check out Karen Briggs on jazz violin, with Yanni, at the Acropolis, doing The Rain Must Fall. It's also got a nice bass solo. She also does about a two and a half minute duel in one song from that concert that's worth checking out.
    Also, I'm pretty sure you're wife is talking about a jazz club. Yeah, they serve food. But many are non-profit's that have more of a speakeasy feel. A good one would be a nice place to take her on a date.

    Damn man, I don't know what you keep passing up the awesome music videos for. You get the best sound possible and you still get to see them play. What could you possibly be missing that a live show could give you ??? I mean seriously, the guitar is crisper, clearer and cleaner in the music video (and of course, on the record) and even Candy's sax is better, though she's always phenomenal. In fact, the whole compliment of musicians sound better. I think I'm just gonna give up trying to show you things. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink, and I'm tired of trying. You 2 enjoy yourselves. I'm outta here.

    • @x19fan1
      @x19fan1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope you read this because if you truly understood music, you would know that a beautifully played live performance, like this, is the pinnacle of creativity. The nuances, the passion, everything is better live when you’re dealing with top shelf artists like these two. I’m a sound engineer, bringing musician’s art to an audience is my business… I’ll take a live performance like this over the studio any day. You might feel differently, but your attitude concerning your opinion stinks! Do you even play, bro? Lol

    • @StevesFunhouse
      @StevesFunhouse 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@x19fan1 UranId10t, TBH !!! Yes, I've played lead and rhythm guitar for over 50 years, been a session musician, played live with 2 groups, roadied for many and would say I definitely appreciate SOME bands live work over their studio stuff.
      However, that is NOT that case with this performance. Not everyone plays better live !!! The music video WAS a live performance, even if only recorded in a small venue ... meaning, it was not MIXED down and perfected like a studio recording would be.
      Now, about your ignorant last comment "Do you even play, bro? Lol", for 1, I think I have answer the 1st part, for 2, I'm NOT your bro, and 3, only a fool ASSUMES they are better, more informed, more equipped to judge someone ELSE'S opinion for them.
      As far as what YOU like, kudos for having an opinion of your own ... just remember that I am NOT you and AM entitled to have MY OWN too.
