The fact that you do the bassline with the Microkorg and not with the Microbrute is strange because everyone knows the brute is a bassbeast !! It was my first real synth an I love it like on the first day ! Much love goes out from Germany
I like it, the micro is a bit loud and the bass line is a bit low and hard to hear out of the bass from the volca, but the performance is really good and well composed.
Thanks, glad you dig it! No problem, I've roughly got the following: Octave: +2 Sub overtone: 3 o'clock Pulse width: max Square wave: max Cutoff: max Resonance: max Brute factor: 9 o'clock Filter mode: low pass KBD: 12 o'clock LFO amount: max LFO rate: 10 o'clock LFO wave: triangle VCA Env amt: max VCA: Env A: 0 D: max S: max R: max Mod matrix: LFO -> PWM All other knobs should be at the minimum setting. I also have it outputting to a Kaosspad mini which adds reverb. To get the more "stuttering" 8-bit sound in the first half, just switch the LFO waveform from triangle to square, and increase the LFO rate
Thanks! It's been awhile but I'm pretty sure the microbrute went into a mini kaos pad 2 on a reverb setting, and a little additional reverb was added to the master track.
Sounds great! I have a Microbrute and was looking to expand on it. How is everything synced here? Does the Microkorg sync with anything or did you just match the bpm or the volca and the Microkorg?
Thanks man! I've got the Midi-out from the the Microkorg going into a Midi-thru splitter, and the Midi-thru splitter goes into both the Volca and Microbrute, which keeps them in sync with the Microkorg.
Very nice, good work, reminds me of Goblin. Sort of what I'm going for. One question....How did you get your Volca Beats snare to sound so good? I have one and the snare is just atrocious! Did you mix it with another sound or is it a mod?
Appreciate it, and Goblin is awesome :) I have my Volca Beats going into a multi effects pedal, which is adding a good bit of compression and a little reverb. I EQ'd it a little on the mixer too, but compression is definitely doing the most magic here.
+Arne Teubel MIDI cable between the two. Unfortunately only the tempo gets synced, so I like to start the MK arpeggiator first, then kick off the Volca on beat.
Nice tune, that lead keys sounds sweet on the microbrute, great stuff
yeah i stumbled upon it this morning. what a tune to wake up to.
Awesome! Super fun to listen to.

drkluscious Ahhh, thanks man! My Micro died last night, but once I get it working again I'll try that out! Keep it up!
This belongs in the trailer, for the also imaginary, Hotline Miami 3!
this is fucking sick dude
miami vice bass:)
The microbrute sounds amazing in this. How did you make it sound like that?
Молодец good
Sounds great, do you use any reverb on the microbrute?
Thanks! It's been awhile but I'm pretty sure the microbrute went into a mini kaos pad 2 on a reverb setting, and a little additional reverb was added to the master track.
Did you make the patch on the Microkorg? or is in one of the stock? Thats a great bass.
Love to know the patch settings for the microkorg?
;-) subscribed
Superb...! 😉
Can you tell me all the equipment that you use for this record? i like very much how it sounds.
It's in the title...
Is that a Sigh poster? I recognize the logo.
Yes! From the Imaginary Sonicscape boxset
I dig the way you are mixing this, using the ol' tascam and a field recorder. is that a zoom?
Looks like a Tascam DR-5
Ah... I found you again.
This guy doesn't fuck around.

what scale is the song in?
SuperClau I believe D-minor
How do you sync the Volca Beats and the MicroKorg?

+istkrieg If you can, put a sequence on midi channel 10 on the microkorg and send it to the volca.
do you use any external effects on the microkorg and the microbrute or is this the true sound
+Panos1980s I think there is a small amount of delay on the synth, maybe a bit of reverb
Ok thanks
Are you recording this on a Tascam 414 4 track cassette recorder?
iamexodusnow I was using the Tascam 414 as a mixer, it's output went into the mic-in of a field recorder straight to an SD card.
So good!
