Haven't started the video yet, but I want you to know a while back on a live stream, I asked what you were most proud of and you said your novel. I pledged to read it and I've finally managed it! I enjoyed it quite a bit - laughed a bit at a quiet little line about changing the polarity of the neutron flow. It was my initiation to the term "Morrigan," at least in a way that had me asking questions at the academic literary canon, that's always fun. I felt there was something similar that I was missing with the motif of the dark horse and what it was meant to thematically represent, but I never figured it out. I plan on reading it again!! Okay, back to the video
You know what’s the worse thing about this? There was an article that I read a few months ago about a trans girl in Florida that played volleyball. If I remember correctly, she was the one who founded the volleyball club in her high-school after practicing the whole summer with her mom. Then the anti-trans laws came in and she was forced to leave the club, and her mom, who was part of the school council (or something like that, I read it a while ago and english is not my first language. Any corrections are welcome) was investigated and then forced out of it. The girl stopped going to school, despite her friends and teammates missing her dearly, and while things got more or less resolved, she still couldn’t play and her mom was on thin ice with the school. They had to move to another state. This episode showed perfectly what trans kids go through, almost 1 on 1 with reality, and they decided to not air it when it could have made a difference, or at the very least, make these kids feel heard and seen. Cowards is the best word to define them, it’s what they are and what they’ll always be (Didn’t want to edit my other comment to add this because the tone is very different 😅)
Fun fact: When this episode was leaked onto TH-cam, I immediately downloaded it in case if ever got taken down, and after I posted the whole thing in the comments of someone's facebook post talking about it, and it didn't take long for my video comment to be flagged and muted due to a copyright claim by Disney. I sent a dispute saying I had the right to post it not just because I feel it's morally incorrect to ban LGBTQ+ representation, but also because Disney clearly not wanting to make money off of it means they have nothing to lose by me sharing it online, and I got a notification earlier today saying that my dispute had been reviewed... and had actually been accepted, so the video remains up without being muted.
"How many doors do I have to break through until they stop locking me out? I'm so tired." It was an amazing episode and it is so sad, disappointing, and angering that Disney, for whatever reason, is choosing to silence it. I truly hope that the backlash that they are receiving will get them to reconsider.
I just found out about this episode through you and its frustrating that Alex Hirsch's point about Disney's stance on the LGBTQ+ community is being proven right yet again. Remember next June when Disney promotes their "pro LGBTQ+" stuff that Disney banned this episode and canceled Neon Galaxy and treated The Owl House poorly.
Also theres the fact that Nimona almost never got released even though it was mostly finished. Like disney destroyed the studio that brought the ice age movies, horton heres a who and more using the excuse of covid but the fact that blue sky was working on Nimona a very queer film at the time is one hell of a coincidence. Disney has far to many coincidences.
The second Nimona was cancelled, my conspiracy theory was that Disney had a queer film in the pipeline and didn't want the competition, or wanted to claim they were the "first" major animation studio to have an overtly queer main character. Lo and behold, Strange World comes out (heh). But even then, they buried that movie (I saw a grand total of two ads. TWO), so what were they trying to achieve? At least be consistently queerphobic rather than all this wishy-washy faux allyship smh
@@CommonNoctul I predict it will eventually come out that the characters in Luca and Raya and the Last Dragon were supposed to be gay and Disney didn't allow it
there is a sick irony that the episode about no matter how many hoops you jump through, jumped through all the hoops to be denied at the end. I guess that level media literacy is a lot to expect from a company that would do this though.
I remember when I was a little kid and I heard the word trans gender for the first time. I was watching the news with my grandma and the news casters were defining the word for the audience. I felt so deeply attached to the word immediately and jumped up to run into the family computer room. I was so excited to learn more that I didn't stay to find out why they were even talking about trans people. But I found out why soon enough because it was the early 2000s, and the internet wasn't censored like it is today. One search and I was greeted by the corpse of a trans woman who had been brutally beaten to death by a group of men. Pictures of her body being shared everywhere, forum posts laughing at it, calling her a disgusting pervert and saying she deserved it. I want to live in a world where trans kids first experience with the word trans gender is through this episode of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
You need to start adding that warning you do for the BBC for Disney as well, theyve been pretty mask off for the past few months throwing LGBT people under the bus
And her character design screams "middle-aged Karen who is definitely transphobic and also probably more if you scratch beneath the surface" to those familiar with The Type.
@@dinosaysrawr As for the nail on the coffin, her daughter is fed up with her mom’s entitled, transphobic BS. I watched the whole episode and it’s implied that it’s not the first time Greer has acted like this. It also shows how transphobia hurts families (cough Graham Linehan cough Elon Musk cough).
It is such a beautiful episode, cannot recommend enough for anyone interested to seek it out themselves. Vera describes all the important plot points, but seeing it play out hits different. Not only is it an important message, but the way it's presented for the show's younger demographic is very thoughtful. Not subtext, but clear, straightforward text, making a real, painful subject approachable without diminishing it. An earnest, well-crafted story sorely needed for all kids, but for trans kids especially. Also the art and animation are just beautiful, wow. The show's art style didn't grab me from the posters, but after this episode, I'm sold. There's way more to it than I was expecting, and it gives me early 2000s cartoon vibes. Strong comic book influence, great use of color, dynamic shot composition. ESPECIALLY in the sequence where the team breaks out. And with the fun video game references to boot?? Immaculate. ...Which of course adds insult to injury for Disney not letting it air. I don't believe for a second that the reason isn't connected to the episode's directly trans story. And yet, undeniably it had to get approval multiple times over the course of development. Letting the crew go through months of hard work just to pull the rug out beneath their feet at the end? Unprofessional is putting it lightly, but disrespectful is exactly it. Disney are cowards, and they're a disgrace.
As an trans person this makes my blood boils. But as an animator, let's just say that it's really unfortunate for the g29 climate conference that I didn't work on this show because all they would have needed to do was plug me into the power grid and the whole planet's 30 years clean energy plan would have been meet instantly by nothing more than my pure unending rage.
Disney has to appeal to the demographic that would object to this episode, but still let their kids watch Doctor Who and the Mighty Ducks franchise, I guess? Complaining about trans athletes in media after about 50 years of “just let the cis girl play on the boy’s team, it’s fine” movies is weird.
Right? The lion's share of the mainstream media I grew up with preached gender equality and asserted that girls can do anything boys can do, and should be allowed and even, encouraged to do so!
@@dinosaysrawr *Biological* girls, yes. That's what you're missing. A trans MTF still has certain biological advantages over a woman, so letting them compete in women's sports is unfair to biological women. Unless the sport's non-physical; in those cases it's fine since men and women compete in those types regardless (bowling, chess, poker etc.).
@@samalton5837 , the actual science there is nuanced and complex, especially when you factor in HRT or hormone blockers (which many people don't, whether out of ignorance or malice). if bio-boys are such a formidable competitive threat, why did the progressive media from my youth assert that a single bio-girl should be allowed to go head-to-head against even a team of bio-boys in any and every activity under the sun, because she has the ability to triumph over her male opposition? That's the contradiction or flip-flop I'm calling out here.
@@samalton5837 Nope, nice try. Most trans athletes either perform under their cis counterparts, or in the few events they DO perform on par, thats just them being normal athletes. Besides, the whole notion of "gender advantages" is a complex and often times misrepresented issue thats used as a bludgeon to keep women from ever outshining men, despite the fact that women have beaten men in plenty of sports, including famously in various older marathon runs. Fun fact, many sports actually werent segregated even back in those more racist and sexist times, but once women started winning against men, NOW they decided to ban it. Isnt that kinda strange? Hmmmm...
I am disappointed this episode was shelved and could only be seen leaked online. Also, someone posted clips of the episode on TH-cam, and I read some of the comments and I see stuff like ‘the villain is the only sane person’ because she felt a trans girl couldn’t play for a girls team and unfunny jokes about nonbinary, or that they weren’t convinced. It just boggles my mind how people can see these clips of such a good episode and miss the point. The fears some have of transgender people in sports, specifically trans women it seems make no sense. And even someone leaving a comment that ‘how is it wrong I don’t want my kid mutilated at school’? Like what is the logic?
I think delaying it was decided last year due to "politics" and seeing how it would shake out. The election probably made it so it was definitely not going to be aired.
Oh god, unless its any pro spoerts, yeah thats the point right, its likerally just kids wanting to play and who cares? Or rather who should care about kids that like to play, playing? Anypretense to care, is admission of bigotry.
If Nintendo, another "family-friendly" company, can have a canon trans character in Paper Mario, then Disney doesn't have an excuse to pull this episode.
They will bring it back eventually. Disney has been cowards for decades. This is like when they censored that episode of Gargoyles on why guns are not cool actually/gun safety because they felt that Elisa lying in a little pool of blood after being accidentally shot by her friend was to graphic. But again it was a finished episode approved at every point. They had it pulled for a while but they did put it back in the end. Obviously this situation is much more serious considering it covers such an important topic, but considering the pushback they are getting I’m hoping they will fix this much quicker then they did with Gargoyles.
Y'all, if you find the episode up somewhere, download it (safely, check for viruses and all that). There's no telling whether or not your original source could be taken down or not.
this episode sounds beautiful and i am infuriated. disney poured money and people poured love and hard work into this episode and then disney fucked them over like tf man
I took your advice to check out the episode before you recounted it and wow, I was amazed and thought it was incredibly good and inspiring, just a great cartoon episode even aside from the moral and themes! I really hope a Streisand Effect happens here.
I am genuinely surprised that the antagonist's name is Greer. This is the name of a prominent TERF. I'd have thought that Disney Legal or S&P would have objected to this, and it's a *very* small change to make. Did Disney really not take issue with it? Or did they actually not do a pass on the script for the episode? Neither option seems likely to me.
It's a last name that more than one person has. Unless there are a lot more commonalities between the fictional character and the real TERF, it wouldn't get very far in court.
I LOVE Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur so much!! For years since it came out on disney I've tried to get people to watch this wonderful show, I love how different it is from other marvel shows, it's just a really solid cartoon and it has been one of my fav cartoons of recent years!! I still really want the soundtrack for the show too. I accidentally ended watching the buried episode on youtube and never felt more seen as a trans person. I'm not holding on hope it will be aired cause disney is cowards but I'm still forever grateful for everyone involved in making this episode possible. I hope none of them get punished or fired. I want only the best for them because this episode was such a great work and again I love this show!! I’ve often loved shows but when it comes down to it very few on the shows or in the show it’s self would actually openly support or love trans people. Some even instead will share how much they hate us or joke about us. So I am over the moon (sorry had to use that pun) that Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur and the creators behind it are actually supportive. Not to say others haven’t tried or added moments/side characters to show support too, I'm very greatful for them too! I’m just so happy a show I love actually wants to support someone like me! Thank you for talking about this! and big thank you to Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur crew!
Cowards. Imagine caving to a bunch of literal adult babies who cry over a trans or black person being on screen for any amount of time. I’m so tired of this
Watch the whole thing. If you think it is too long, start at 41:30, and if by the end you aren't convinced to watch the first 41 minutes and 29 seconds, I don't know what to tell you. I would start at the beginning, though. It makes the end pay off even more.
This shit pisses me off to no end. Same shit happened with an episode of Adventure Time: Distant Lands on my country. Even if I was homophobic (which I am not), I wouldn't want to miss out on PEAK FICTION. Put that shit back on, Disney.
Not the target audience (cis, white man over 45), but absolutely loved the first series! Had no idea that Brooklyn was trans and it shouldn't make any difference to her character or story.
Congrats for the audiobook! So glad that it can be finally released after all of your hard work and the hard work of those who participated in the project :) ❤❤❤
When I was a kid Devil Dinosaur traveled the wilderness with Moon Boy, who was portrayed as a chimp with a human face. The new stories are so much better.
The people who work on this show have a season 3 planned I think it will be more story driven too but I’ve been trying to get more people to watch this show so it can get enough views to convince Disney to give it a season 3 I don’t want to give up on it there is a lot of love and passion going into this show and it deserves that season 3 it deserves its story to be fully finished
Disney is gatekeeping the episode "the gatekeeper" how ironic. Seriously though since roughly around the 2003ish Disney began to loos much of the imagination and innovation that made it so great. there willingness to swing for the fences and try new things is part of what gave the company its magic and that has been buried by a want from the company to play it safe. Moon Girl was doing some really unique animation by making the sound a big part of the show and animation. The representation as well was being done so well not just for the LGBTQ community but POC as well. Main character Lunella being a girl who is interested in STEM and uses math along with science to help solve a lot of the problems she faces in the series. young girls being into STEM is still not something you see a lot in kide media, never mind as a main character. It is so frustrating that a show with all of this is getting treated so poorly.
Thank you for this video! My 7 year old loves Moon Girl and I am feeling the loss of this episode intensely. It sounds beautiful and would have made her understand so much more viscerally the worries her older sibling has for their trans bestie, especially post election.
Thank you for this video! I’m sorry to hear that Disney did this but not surprised! I have added your book to my Audible library and can’t wait to listen to it!
Honestly, with all the thinly veiled reasoning and all the other hullabaloo regarding Owl House, Alex Hirsch's anger at Disney's nitpicking certain details in Gravity Falls and now this MG&DM episode (which I downloaded from archived sources and just finished it and really enjoyed, for all of the reasons Vera's outlined), I just gotta ask Disney: Isn't this stance getting old? Even for you?
excellently said, and the passion is felt. i never have much hope for corporations, especially not disney, but they continue to lower my expectations more and more by dropping them through the floor. sometimes i wish theyd realize that with all their money, theyre allowed to take risks, because they will not be hurting if it goes badly. but they will never do that, because the world to them is numbers, and numbers going down to them is the apocalypse. it sucks.
Pulled cause Disney is a bunch of lib-ass cowards, this woulda been huge for me as a kid. Hate that they’re siding with the whiny adult children on this one but never expected anything else from Disney but god damn is this disappointing
I know that it's hard to feel hopeful about anything right now--I'm certainly feeling that way. But I'm going to take a minute to repeat what Vera just said. You are loved. 😊 Not only that: 'there's some good left in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for.'
This is truly a fabulous episode and I hope it sees the light of day. I am not trans but I have many friends who are and want to begin transitioning, but the future is so uncertain for them. This was the first year I could vote and afterwards I felt so jaded and hopeless, but the message of this episode rings so true. These systems are actively against people, so they need dismantled.
You know between this and their decision to close Muppet*Vision 3D (i.e. Jim Henson's last ever film)... Disney has basically pissed off a lot of their hardcore fans this week.
My kids (5 & 8) LOVE this show. The older kid now has some of the graphic novels. There has always been an NB character. My genderfluid kid really enjoys that.
Great discussion, very clear on what entertainment corporations are seeing as what will cost them the least. In this case is sounds like the net outcome is losing something important that would have spoken to a lot of kids. Thank you for educating me on Owl House too, not something I had heard about before.
Congrats to the audio book! It is sad that they shelfed the episode and it is 100% cowardnes as you described it. I really hope that it backfires massivley and may the Streisand-effect do it's best so that disney will regret behaving this cowardly. I also apprechiates a lot that you incorporated the cooperate point of view, especially the small excurse in regards to the owl house, cause it's so important to look at all the reasons for cooperate actions. Which does not mean that the actions do not suck massively and can still be incredible dissappointing. Love your videos and wish you all the best!
Episodes 9 through 14 just went up on Disney+ in Sweden, this past week or so. The release schedule here is woefully behind. Good timing, though, since it lets me watch the [Archive]'d Gatekeeper episode before continuing with the new episodes.
Imagine if we could get an episode about trans people in sports that acknowledges that hormones are a thing that you have to be on, and that hormones influence your muscle mass and bone structure.
Thank you for covering this topic in your usual respectful manner! This episode doesn't deserve to be on hold. Time will tell if Disney will let it air but I won't hold my breath
I don’t agree with the reasons that they cut the owl house short those arnt valid at all heavy story serialized animated shows deserve to be treated better deserve to exist more on Disney
may not be your cup of tea but your review of this unaired episode made me turn this show on for my nephews. my partner and I live with their Sister and so any show what has non binary representation is a huge GO for me to share with the boys so they (the boys) can maybe better understand their uncle ( an enby) a bit better
The thing is Even if they are cowards about this. They are still very much getting money even tho for inside out 2 Disney didn’t want Reilly to look “too gay” But look how much money Inside out 2 made, all the people who went and see it, all it does it make Disney think they are correct because it’s giving them money, just like how people still gave them money when lion king 2019 came out I honestly think Disney didn’t care about it a episode of moon girl were it deals with trans people because they are gaining money Yes we can still make fun at Disney as much as we want all day long But it didn’t change the fact they are still getting money You know how many sequels they announced since inside out 2 made so much money? Even if some of thoses movies don’t make money something else will give them money. Either way it’s a losing battle Because we still giving them money in some way shape or form
What is the deal with Disney and these kinds of shows? Honestly. I mean, I guess Amphibia did get the best deal out of those with three full seasons, right? (But then again I have only watched one so far because it still isn't available in my country). Then there is the screwing over they pulled on The Owl House, and I will never forgive them for that one. And if you take something like the Duck tales Reboot into account too. This would be one banger lineup if they were still running all of these shows.
I do wanna argue with you on Inside out 2. Riley is clearly bi or gay as she had a HUGE crush on another female character. So if that's the toned down and "less gay" version is madness to me. Also Nimona was going to be disney but they axed it.
That’s… not really true of Nimona. Nimona was never intended to be Disney but they acquired it basically by accident when they bought Fox because it was happening under Fox owned Blue Sky Animation. And while the gay content was likely a factor, it would have cost them money to finish the project. A project they probably wouldn’t have greenlit from the beginning.
I need help, I need to think of a word beyond cowardice, for groups and corporations like Disney, who have every opportunity and incentive to the right thing and are big enough that they can set the tone, and they refuse. Schettlings and schettler. That’s the stronger word for cowardice in groups, I just invented it. After Francesco Schettino- Captain of the Costa Concordia who abandoned his ship before the evacuation was complete and made a huge stink of it. Schettlings. Let’s see if it catches on. Great video!
And uh season 1 views might have been low just so you know season 2 is a great improvement actually if you did notice it’s popular enough ok Also it’s not been canceled Diamond white said it just hasn’t been picked up for a season 3 doesn’t mean we won’t ever get one I still have hope
I wonder how much of this whole thing is marketing. Because this went through the roof, especially within the community. And I wonder how many people knew about this show prior to this outcry. I didn't, personally. So how much of this decision was "before we air the trans episode, we rile up all the trans people to the show?" Because in the end, there's no such thing as bad publicity. Doesn't mean I'm agreeing with their methods, especially if the episode stays cut, because heck, that's one huge cake of an episode children, especially trans children, deserve.
Given that the show had already been confirmed cancelled by the time this leaked I don’t parse your logic at all. The thing they’d theoretically be marketing wouldn’t be able to benefit anyway.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. My kids are 13 and 14, they don't watch Disney enough to know whats on there now. I k ow one of them like shows like this. I just to find this missing episode
What other shows are having pro-trans episodes these days? Quantum Leap (the new one) had one where he's a HS basketball coach with a trans daughter on the team...
I love the insistence that the issue wasn't her being trans, like no, I suppose the issue was evidently just that she existed as a trans person in the world. Completely different.
It rings irritatingly similar to the right's attempt to claim that they're not bigoted because they're going after "trans ideology" and not "trans people."
I'm not entirely sure of the timeline, but I was doing a lil research into anti-trans athlete grifters & the one who claims to have been seriously injured? 'Partial paralysis'? Was volleyball. So, while I'm fairly certain the issue is just standard transphobia, I'm not totally convinced it's not trying to avoid looking like they're celebrating/profiting from that girl. Like, animation takes forever & I'm sure this went through a nightmare S&P process, so it's possible? Thanks for covering this, finally got me off my ass to watch the ep & it made me cry. & just fyi, since starting T I just DON'T cry, so it was a LOT.
So the incident you're describing was from April of 2023. Production for Season 2 started in February of that year, so the episode would have been pitched and likely written before that had occurred. Now it may well have been in the middle of storyboarding, but if that incident was a reason to can it then again: it should have happened before final animation.
this reminds me of an episode of DS-9. and not in a good way. when it literally follows the story in a modern sense (the episode was set before TV was a thing), and it was supposed to be a story with a moral against it....
Funnily enough, I have an update about my kids. Well, one of them (also I just joined your Patreon). And I hope this is something positive to hear. One of our twins just came out as non-binary. They'll turn 12 in 2 weeks and I am so proud of them, even if they rock a suit way better than I ever could. This wasn't a surpise; we've known they were a baby queer for a long time, but we're thrilled they've been able to come out to us. And, happily, their school is being incredibly supportive (they're the first person to come out as any kind of gender non-conforming and the principal is taking personal responsibility to work with us to make sure they're accepted and supported). I'd like to believe that watching channels like yours over the years has helped me be a better parent, and contributed to creating the environment where our kids are so comfortable and confident in embracing who they are. I'm sure they'll face challenges - they're starting secondary school next year (equivalent to middle school & high school combined, in US terms), but they're so strong and so happy to living as their true self. I couldn't be more proud of them, and I credit you and my trans and non-binary friends with helping me be there for them.

My god... I have no words. Must've been absolutely horrifying to see, especially as a child.
❤
Corporations are not your friends. You can enjoy your product but never let them trick you into thinking they’re “on your side”.
You need to start adding that warning you do for the BBC for Disney as well, theyve been pretty mask off for the past few months throwing LGBT people under the bus
not me sobbing over just an episode summary
This shit is exhausting... Why is evil and cowardice winning?
Yes, that's horrible.
And not just in the USA. Here in Europe as well. 😢😢
Makes money.
Because there's a lot of people stupid enough to fall for the evil people's lies.
What’s evil is exploiting the mentally ill into this fetish.
@@xavierhouston4650 Identifying as another gender isn’t anymore of a fetish than identifying with your birth sex is.
Coach Greer? Well, _that_ was _certainly_ an intentional and meaningful choice of name.
I was waiting for someone to say they named the villian after infamous Terf Germaine Greer
This is so ironic considering they sold Mickey-shaped trans flag pins on their store website a few years ago.
Moon Girl is such a good and underrated show
Which is why I’m trying so hard to get more people to view this show so it gets that season 3 they planned
There is no logic. There's bigotry, fear, and belief in ridiculous lies.
Oh god, unless its any pro spoerts, yeah thats the point right, its likerally just kids wanting to play and who cares? Or rather who should care about kids that like to play, playing? Anypretense to care, is admission of bigotry.
We should give this a Gladd to spite Disney, only allowing the animators to come to talk thrash to their corporate overlords
The fact that they let people work so hard in making this episode just to hold it in the end is just. Why
this episode sounds beautiful and i am infuriated. disney poured money and people poured love and hard work into this episode and then disney fucked them over like tf man
Aw, man, just the description of the episode brought tears to my eyes, watching the actual episode would probably have me bawling!!
If it's any comfort, you can find it on *ahem* archival libraries that are available to everyone on the internet.
The ep is down now sadly 😔@kittygardenva2741
@@kylejones8289 Imagine if Coach Greer had been Coach Rowling. Ooh the lawsuits.
Damn. I need to find this episode so my kids can see it

Yeah I’ve been trying really hard to get more people into this show so it can be renewed for that season 3 that’s been planned
Man this is a better trans plot than the episode of Quantum Leap (2022) about a trans basketball player. So of course it was suppressed...
Honestly, with all the thinly veiled reasoning and all the other hullabaloo regarding Owl House, Alex Hirsch's anger at Disney's nitpicking certain details in Gravity Falls and now this MG&DM episode (which I downloaded from archived sources and just finished it and really enjoyed, for all of the reasons Vera's outlined), I just gotta ask Disney:
Isn't this stance getting old?
Yeah the people who worked and made the show have nothing to do with the higher ups banning this ep not their decision

Damn that episode sounds amazing, and hopefully someone somwhere has legally dubious acess to it to show it.
How about if they let the episode be on Disney plus for the rest of the world?

may not be your cup of tea but your review of this unaired episode made me turn this show on for my nephews. my partner and I live with their Sister and so any show what has non binary representation is a huge GO for me to share with the boys so they (the boys) can maybe better understand their uncle ( an enby) a bit better
I was so riveted by your video, when you said "and then, the episode got better", I said out loud "No!" as in "no way!" LOL!

Greer? As in Germaine?
Fitting.
The thing is
Even if they are cowards about this. They are still very much getting money even tho for inside out 2 Disney didn’t want Reilly to look “too gay”
But look how much money Inside out 2 made, all the people who went and see it, all it does it make Disney think they are correct because it’s giving them money, just like how people still gave them money when lion king 2019 came out
I honestly think Disney didn’t care about it a episode of moon girl were it deals with trans people because they are gaining money
Yes we can still make fun at Disney as much as we want all day long
But it didn’t change the fact they are still getting money
You know how many sequels they announced since inside out 2 made so much money? Even if some of thoses movies don’t make money something else will give them money. Either way it’s a losing battle
Because we still giving them money in some way shape or form
What is the deal with Disney and these kinds of shows? Honestly. I mean, I guess Amphibia did get the best deal out of those with three full seasons, right? (But then again I have only watched one so far because it still isn't available in my country). Then there is the screwing over they pulled on The Owl House, and I will never forgive them for that one. And if you take something like the Duck tales Reboot into account too. This would be one banger lineup if they were still running all of these shows.
Yeah the ducktales reboot was planned to have 4 seasons but got canceled on season 3 so they had to change some things
I suspect a queer creative brain drain soon as employees leave
So how much of this decision was "before we air the trans episode, we rile up all the trans people to the show?"
Because in the end, there's no such thing as bad publicity.
The Show is great
I love moongirl and devil dinosaur
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. My kids are 13 and 14, they don't watch Disney enough to know whats on there now. I k ow one of them like shows like this. I just to find this missing episode
is there an audiobook... nevermind... thank you...
What other shows are having pro-trans episodes these days? Quantum Leap (the new one) had one where he's a HS basketball coach with a trans daughter on the team...
HYPE for this video!!
Engagement for the engagement god. Ugh.
This plus the owl house and other shows having to cut it disney is cowardly
My G-d I needed this episode when I was in the target age for the show
I'm not entirely sure of the timeline, but I was doing a lil research into anti-trans athlete grifters & the one who claims to have been seriously injured?
Congrats on the audiobook! I just got it, so I can't wait to start listening!
