Thank you. I was surprised that for me, the audio was better than the Rode providing the noise cancellation was off! I have a Fulaim X5 which is EXACTLY the same piece of kit. I’ve found it’s very sensitive to location. Best 150 mm in front of my mouth (but that’s really naff for video work); 2nd best is UNDER my T-shirt with the dead cat on. That sounds better than OUTSIDE the T-shirt!!! The dead cat is brilliant. NEVER had any wind noise with it on.
Thank you for this! You make me laugh - just like me 'waffling on' ha ha. Anyway, I am recording a sitcom and as well as using an overhead I want to use lav mics too. I was looking into ones with a 32 bi float as I am female and there may also be some raised voices at times... how does this mic cope with that? Sally :) Just to add more waffle - I am recording a sitcom on a budget!! It isn't a professional 'thing' but I would like to make it as professionally as possible.
Heya, thanks for getting in touch. So it you can do the MS option that records a safety track on one of the mics at -6 dp, that could do the trick for you I think. A bit of faff with post-production but for the money these are a really good option.
My biggest tip is to really get to know them, and have a safety track recording as well with a separate device maybe. I've learnt the hard way that ruined audio is simply ruined audio and no amount of post will fix it to the standard you are looking for.
