    I have the Atlantic Technology FS5 passive front stage LCR speaker and it is literally unbelievable...... One of the best purchases I have made in this hobby in a very log time. The GE XL was on my radar but I didn't like the fact I couldn't run Audyssey with it, and am so happy I went with the AT FS5. Thanks for the video..... nice, smooth style!

    Just bought the 3D Array XL and a Forcefield 3 after your review. Seems like a great solution for a room where floorstanding speakers are not possible. Thanks!

      What are you powering it with? I get protection mode shutdowns constantly with a Denon x4800h and the soundbar is ALL I have running.

    I have this array with a matched pair for rears and a 10" goldenear sub powered by a Cambridge cxr120... In a 1 bedroom condo. Its perfect and lets me enjoy music and movies even at a lower volume for late night enjoyment.

    Hey Shane, are you planning to review the def tech mythos sound bar? I would love to know how these options compare to each other.

    I have this combination as well as two invista 650 for overhead ceilings speakers and two investa 7000 in the rear ceiling. With the supersub x I think it is an amazing system. Both movies and music sound great. Yes, not the same experience as my home theater in the basement, but many times cheaper with a clean look. Thanks for the review.

    I've wondered about Goldenear ever since I discovered them a few years back. Still curious about their product line...
    Thanks for this review that's 8 months old now... :D

    i have this soundbar as well, and a built-in subwoofer on the opposite side of the room. because of that, i don't cross over at 120hz as suggested (as i can clearly localize frequencies down to about 80hz) so I run the soundbar full range and even boost the bass on it, and low-pass the sub at 80hz. it's a small sealed enclosure but the woofers seem to be very high quality drivers that don't distort when you throw lows at them. it seems to work well for me - i rarely turn it up super loud, but i'd say i've gotten it to about 75% max volume without distortion, running full range.

    Hi, Shane I’m interested in in the supersub x. If you could get 2 supersub x for the price of one supersub xxl would that be better than one supersub xxl?

    Shane, have you tested (or planning to) the Nakamichi 9.2.4 Soundbar yet ? I’d be interested to hear how it stacks up to this, the Sennheiser or Q90R

    Shane want to swap out my SVS 3000 for the Goldenear X. From what you remember on your 3000 review would you make that change ? Is it worth it ? I’m on the fence. Thanks.

      @@therealshanelee Thanks Shane for the lightning quick response. Wanted something smaller but comparable for my condo. I will make the switch since I have someone wanting to give me $1400 CDN for my 2 yr old SVS. Mind you prices went up so advantage Me.

    I’m looking for a sub (or 2) for a 20x20 theater. have Triton Fives, SuperCenter, and SuperSat 3s with an Anthem MRX720. Would you suggest the SuperSub?
    I’ve considered SVS SB4000/PB3000, Defiance X12, and maybe a SuperSub? What would you suggest?

    Based on your experience with both, how would you compare this to the Martin Logan SML XL's?

    • @therealshanelee
      @therealshanelee  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      SLM's are single speakers. This is three in one.

    • @markbrandt5579
      @markbrandt5579 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@therealshanelee Thanks for responding... Yep, I get that, but the GoldenEar is pretty much three SuperSats 3's in one long enclosure. I'm deciding between three SuperSat50's , three ML SML XL's or three ML Motion 8i's for my front soundstage. Unfortunately, I need to wall mount and won't be able to audition any of these before purchase. So I'm trying to get a general sense of how the two different manufacturers deal with the reduced cabinet volume and folded ribbon tweeter. Did you prefer the GoldenEar sound over the ML's? Thanks for sharing your experience

    Why not just get actual speakers at that price point.
    People go for soundbar for the plug and play aspect and less clutter.
    If the soundbar needs an avr anyways, just buy actual speakers lol

    • @vGREENARROWv
      @vGREENARROWv 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Snehasis Ghosh um just think about it smh... think about if someone spouse who doesn’t want speakers everywhere or if someone have very little room for all that. That’s why most go to sound bars

      Because a lot of people don't want speakers and cables in their living room.

    • @Dragonfire-tn2jg

      It's all about choice, i would never buy a soundbar but some don't have room for decent speakers.

    • @Matasky2010
      @Matasky2010 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Because it is obviously way less intrusive in the room than large speakers flanking the entertainment unit...it's a much cleaner look..Not everyone wants a booming cinema experience in their living room, I just want QUALITY sound with QUALITY dialogue...

      These passive soundbars are not inexpensive, but they sound great. Really great. If one is so inclined, pairing the SuperCinema with a subwoofer and a couple of surround speakers can give something resembling a real good home theater experience. I'd put the larger soundbar (XL) paired with one of their subs (and a higher-end receiver, upper end Integra or lower end Anthem) up against any active soundbar at any price. When you think about it, it isn't even a fair fight. How can a long narrow box housing a multi-channel DAC, multi-channel surround processor, several crap Class D amplifiers, and a bunch of fair quality speakers, in a box that if it's 4" deep is too intrusive and won't sell, sound one tenth as good as nothing but speakers and crossovers in the same sized box (slightly thinner)? No matter the price, it just cannot be done! In addition, I believe the 5.1 system I suggest (SuperCinema Array XL passive soundbar, etc.) would sound better than 80% of all other home theater systems in existence (not louder, but more accurate and more enjoyable for anything but shoot-em-up movies). And remember, the array L+R speaker setup does yield a really wide and deep soundstage even though the separation of the L+R speakers is meager. For those who cannot utilize two floor-standing speakers for L+R channels under any circumstances, but are particular and have a bit of coin to throw at the project, the SuperCinema or SuperCinema XL is the ultimate solution. The caveat being, one still does need a space to house the A/V receiver required to power the passive soundbar.
