Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing great. Here’s another episode you’ll love: THIS Retro Gaming Road Trip was WORTH IT! th-cam.com/video/sBIfdc3nm9k/w-d-xo.html
Thankyou thanks to you my son and me will be visiting many if the places on your videos this year , as a 50 year old mad gamer lovely to see the passion you have too , great stuff and what you do benefits the whole retro and gaming community 😊
Great to see you finally visit my hometown of Middlesbrough Gem glad you enjoyed the awesome Super games World, looking forward to seeing what you picked up 😊
Owning a game store myself, I always enjoy seeing what other stores do. If they do stuff I like I'll try to do that in my shop as well. Also I like the green screen like effect of the gameplay behind you while you continue to talk.
15:05 - Daddy Mulk from the original Ninja Warriors (1987) soundtrack is a contender for the best music in retro gaming history IMHO. There are loads of covers of it on TH-cam. The Amiga port plays it well too.
I live in the Boro and pop into this shop from time to time. They always have cool stuff. The owner has been in the business forever and is really friendly. Great store. 👍
Used to go here for years, but moved to Newcastle so don’t get in to much Ibby and his brother are top blokes. Think they have an online presence so check them out.
I love gebs enthusiastic commentary. If she were talking about insurance at a seminar I would pay attention because she brings true exuberance to the atmosphere! Cheers!
hope all yall's holidays and so was very blessed and fun! i hope you are able to get all of your to do's and so accomplished! there isnt no thing like being able to get all of your priorities done and taken care of. love the show much much missTheGebs24, lol, take care and stay safe!!!
Jess is such a legend she seemed really tired but wow is she a great support for the channel too , just love your passion too , and Jess your an absolute star too keep up the great work thanks too you I'm starting to visit many of these places this year 😊
Cool retro game store, lots of interesting stuff there. Spotted even Commodore 16 there, have seen it only once in my life for real in the 80's, a classmate at school had one :)
Ibby mentioned something that blew my mind. Back in around 2010, I went in to his old shop and brought a Wii game. He said he remembered me. I remembered it immediately
That Ninja Warriors has been there for over a year. I remember visiting literally a year ago and seeing all the boxed games then realising they were repro boxed...... I was devastated.
2:42 Driver, I owned it back in the days, but never completed it. 11:55 Zool, I've heard about it, just never played. I collect these days for PS1 and PSP.
I find it amazing that an old friend of mine was responsible for the pal symphony of the night getting a Japanese esque collectors edition. He also got Konami to do the metal Gear premium pack. He ran an import store in my town before joining Konami so always wanted the Japanese art carried over, along with special premium packs. If it wasn't for him pal would have gotten usa art and carry over bare minimum everything. I bought my 3do and ps1 from him in 1994. He closed his shop by March 1995. Joined Konami 1997 until 2014 I think. And 2 of his choices are now ultra grails.
Feels so strange seeing you at my old local XD. I live a few towns away in a bit of a rural place, most jobs I've had have been in Middlesbrough town centre so I would always be in there, but I've only been in a handful of times in past few years. The lads that run it are really great, they used to run a Chips in Stockton their gamers above everything else which is awesome, they are known in the area to break street dates too but shhhhhh didn't hear that from me. That Amiga you eyed up I had been eyeing up like 7 years ago lol. They used to run some competitions in the rooms upstairs like Street Fighter tournaments but we're talking some years ago and I have no idea if they still do. Thanks for doing a video on them hopefully help boost gamers to their store. So funny seeing this as where you mentioned the pandora's box I picked one up from them years ago too! XD. My views on retro - I get shunned at in the gaming community but I see it as Current Gen (ps5, series, switch) last gen (ps4, xbox one, wii u) and then everything before that retro so to me 360 and PS3 is retro.
Great video as always! Love the way you show off these indie stores :) I really wouldn’t worry about Venetica though 😂 It really is one of those games that’s so hard to enjoy 😂 proper janky!
Another great video Gem.. I do get phases when I'm looking for particular stuff, but end up giving in due to price. I'd have loved to look at that Amstrad stuff close up..
@TheGebs24 so far I have Panzer Dragoon Saga which cost £29 shipped. I know amazing right, and Virtua fighter kids for £2. Pal games I got Destruction derby, Virtua fighter 2 and firestorm: Thunderwhawk 2 for around £25. So not a bad haul. I want more Gebs 😁💕 Oh I also ordered the action replay cart! I am planning to get Deep Fear.
Amazing pickup with Ninja Warriors! One of my favorite SNES games. They also did a remake on PS4 and Switch, that one is also fantastic. Luckily still in 2D and amazing spritework
Yes!! Soo glad you picked up ninja warrior.. honestly if I was there, I would’ve told you GRIP IT 😂😂❤❤ Also, can I just say having the blooper at the end made it for me 😂 I think there should be a thing at the end of your videos 😉
Hope you try a parmo, while you visited that game shop,as you visited it,it’s set like the old chip store,& we do have a CeX store in captain james cook square 😊though the bus station
Me local!!!!! Love going in whilst the wife's in primark 😂 We used to have a local chain of games shops called chips (where I got my ps3 on the midnight launch which was also then girlfriends, now wife's birthday!) & the owner of super games world was from there. I recently picked up a boxed gameboy colour battery pack from there for £12. Need it as the backlit screen is a battery Guzzler!
Super Famicom and Japanese Megadrive stuff is win win mate. They look way better, often uncensored, more options, run better in 60hz and are often waaaay cheaper. The question is, outside of RPG’s, why would anyone wanna collect PAL?
YT deleted my comment. just saying ninja shadow of darkness is a great game by core design one to watch out for 😊 great video as usual I'm just watching you're old vids from10 years ago so much i missed out on lol
exmutants good price decent game.... Jess I feel your pain with the sickness but pound that redbull! My two favorite flavors are Juneberry and nectarine-peach.
I'm all about Xbox series right now. But before that, I was going all in on the PSone. And before thar I was playing a lot of Sega Genesis. What's next? GBA? Maybe I'm getting that itch. Or some Vita?
I was searching for news articles about a recent murder in my area. I live in Birmingham, Alabama, USA... I have no idea how, but is like to know why youtube thinks this is relevant... "Birmingham + alabama + murder" somehow gets me two doing a bit of shoppin for used snes and Nintendo games. TH-cam fucking sucks
Bomb jack we had that in our Local shop in Liverpool along side double Dragon ,there must of been 20 of us around the machines watching the High scores It brought us all Together and shop owner was sound. ,He use to Get new machine in every 6 months ,was awesome time until owner retired and new Owner Took over and got rid of machines ,then council got Rid of our Two of our 5 a side cages / Tennis courts to put house on so no Games to play ,No football Guess what happened to the area with nothing for the kids to do ,Look back on them times and think Liverpool city council done it on Purpose ,Awesome shop brings back good memory's
Then a couple of years Later Me and my Brother picked up Neo Geo for 50 quid in charity shop with 8 games and then i could not get all the Lads out of the house while Snes Gathered dust Calm was Restored lol As the mums & Dads new they were they were in Blackys house ,Must of been In a Minority in Liverpool in the 90s for a kid were i grew up Having the Neo Geo ,lol

I think the PS3 and xbox 360 are getting there to retro what would everyone class a time frame to cross into retro 20 years? 25 years? 30 years?
Rapid Reload is one of my favorites on ps1 I do not understand why it never had a North American release...
Hey Gebs, have you ever met Kris Statlander and went shopping for games with her?
