This man is just a genius, never heard anything like these live versions of sultans, so many years on from the originals but mark seems to bring it back to life with every tour he does, coming from a 24 year old who's only just realised what PROPER MUSIC is!!

I still have such strong memories of sitting in our front room, eating coco pops watching my dads vhs tape of the alchemy show. it was the summer of 1989 and i had just turned 10. Im still blown away by that live gig and the sound he got out of the guitar.. especially the red one.. he’ll always be in the periphery when people discuss the best guitarists ever and all that crap.. man is a total genius

Estuve en este concierto, fue el cierre del festival de la guitarra de Córdoba. Tenia 18 años y fui con un amigo en bicicleta, la cual aparcamos entre las chopper de las bandas de moteros que habian rodeando todo el aparcamiento. La plaza de toros estaba abarrotada, nunca he vuelto a verla así. El calor que hacia era insoportable esa noche, una de esas de 45 grados en julio, pero si caliente estaba la noche más lo estaba el público. Mark y la banda tocaron increíble, aquí Mark es super reconocido y el público estaba extasiado. Fue uno de los mejores conciertos en los que he estado y aún guardo con cariño la entrada.
I like how he takes more inspiration from his live performances in the 80s, rather then the studio version when it comes to the solo😍😍🎸. What I legend! Truly a once in a century artist!!
De todas las versiones en vivo, para mí esta es sin dudas la mejor. Sin tanta batería cortando a cada rato y además al final Mark hace "su truco" pero esta vez particularmente se tira "de una sin amagar" como la versión original, no como lo ha hecho siempre en vivo. Este comentario es sólo para los enfermos como yo que me entienden.
Es cierto, la batería es más lineal porque los bajos están subidos (con unos beats lo puedes apreciar). Son pura magia la banda de Mark. Toco la guitarra desde los 5 años porque mis padres me ponían los casetes.

This great music always inspires me n also, we can see his first show and many versions how the life goes on i wanted to get old watching this music forever im 34 now, we only live once, enjoy each n every moment with this wonderful music I workout in gym for 4 hrs n work for for 10hrs so im addicted to this music 14 hrs a day for the last 6 years, I started watching this music when I joined to learn guitar but one day ill try my best to play intermediate level atleast ... Awesome to hear this version. Mark had almost seemed to be weary of the song (understandably) in previous performances through the 90's and 2000s. He was inspired here and the drummer, who really sets the excitement level for this song, was great.

What a genius my goodness. Sad how aging affects everything When you play like that you have to standing and dancing with that guitar like he used to. Sitting down kind of dilutes the flavor. OTHER THAN THAT THIS MAN PLAYS AS IF HE COMES FROM ANOTHER WAY SUPERIOR PLANET.
Mark explains to us in one of the other videos from this concert that he has had surgery on his back prior to this, but he's getting better and if you look at his performances after this and up to 2019 (he retired pre covid nonsense) he's back to standing upright. Me personally I like the older Mark even more than the jumping-around-with-a-bandana-8o's version of him. He truly is a genius musician. Imo he's PERFECT in every aspect of that word, I f'in love him.

I've listened to alchemy version thousand of times.. Both version had me orgasm.. In alchemy, drummer and mark's solo had make the song powerful.. Although this version mark play more casually.. But the bassist and the other guitarist had done outstandingly to make it strong and powerful.. Thanks.. You're always our Sultan of Swing.
