Hi. I have the Eon era+ 2015 model which have low & high speed wiper. To upgrade with intermittent, does it require to remove steering wheel to fix or remove only the arm which shown in this video. Also I want to add Fog light switch in RHS arm. Is it possible?
Removing the steering is not required. Just the cowls behind the steering wheel. As for the fog lamps, if you change the stalk, you’ll need to add the relevant wiring harness to the switch, to the fuse, to the lamps and to the master +12V connection. Easier method is to independently have a switch for turning on fog lamps. They’ll take the connection from a fused +12V supply.
I have a new Santro and I can vouch for how annoying it is to use the wipers during rains. It is really surprising that Hyundai skipped this basic feature. My previous car also a Santro zip drive had this feature on it. Thanks a lot for sharing this!
This is was the biggest irritating problem I had with the new santro but now I’m so happy to have finally found the fix to this so thank you so much Ganesh Balan.

Glad to hear that Manav. Apparently some entry level cars don’t come with intermittent wiper setting. Maruti Celerio was another one. Manufacturers should avoid doing these cost cutting measures.

Thanks for sharing. How difficult would it be to retrofit OEM fog lamp + stalk in grand i10 magna? There are many aftermarket kits available but they require installing an extra on/off switch.
Binod, I’m not sure man. Installing the stalk is easy (same process as this one) but you’ll need to study the wiring diagrams and insert the required wire(s) in the connector for the fog lamp.

If it is the case then 2011-2017 Verna's variable intermittent function wiper stalk should work too. What do you say? I have a Eon as a beater car & have been wondering eversince I bought it & always had torrid time in city, manually putting on wiper every time. Thanks a ton.

Hi Sahil, it came as stock from the factory. Haven’t done any adjustments to that. Do you not have the gear indicator in your instrument cluster’s digital display?

Hi Abhiraj, yes. Some of them have successfully replaced the wiper switch on the Eon. Please check the comment I have pinned from a user who has installed it on his Eon.

Hi Anil, I am not aware of the system used in Toyota. You will have to remove the existing wiper stalk and see if there is a similar replacement stalk with same connector and used in the same models.

Yep seems like a feature cutting than cost cutting. But this is a very basic feature. Not giving rear wipers are understandable but not this man! Even the humble Maruti 800, Zen and cars of those era had it.

Prima facie, from the images on Boodmo, the wiper stalk from 2011-14 Verna and the facelift looks the same. You can try it out.

Ours is a Sportz variant and it works perfectly. Check what stalk you’ve bought and if the wiring is done properly.
