    Take the RYA Day Skipper theory Course from NauticEd. NauticEd is an RYA approved international training center. When you pass this course along with a practical on the water training from 1 of 500 training centers worldwide (including Yachting Education School in the USA) you are eligible automatically for the International Certificate of Competence - the ICC. The ICC is the only sailing license approved by United Nations as a legitimate recreational sailing license. Alternatively, consider the NauticEd SLC sailing license which has more accessible sailing instructors/assessors in North America and is equally accepted globally as a legitimate sailing license. See www.nauticed.org/SLC.

    Funny the ASA says you can only get the ICC with them."Only ASA members who have completed through ASA 104, Bareboat Cruising, are eligible to order the ICC certificate. One must be a current member of ASA to be issued the certificate.

      Yes ASA do a bait and switch - somewhere along the line it turns into the IPC which is NOT the ICC created by United Nations. ASA can not issue the ICC - it is impossible the USA never signed Resolution 40 with the UN and ASA is not a national sailing body. The IPC is a made up certificate by ASA. Just sayin'. Who ever thought of issuing an international license without even doing Coastal Navigation. We write the ICC through the Royal Yachting association in the UK who is the nationally appointed body by the UK Government ordained to administer the ICC.

      In 2017, NauticEdbecame fully recognized by the US Coast Guard as an approved Sailing Education body under the American National Standards. Consequently, the NauticEd SLC is now fully accepted internationally by yacht charter companies and Port Authorities.

      If you are looking for competence then both RYA and NauticEd are the most internationally respected. NauticEd covers the theory online and a larger presence in the USA. See www.nauticed.org

    The RIP-OFF RYA...UK course starts from £399 per person ( that’s 730 aud) Why are those who wish to take the day skipper course in he United Kingdom charged more than double for the same course that Australia RYA uses?

      You might be mixing the theory and practical courses. Anyway, for the Theory course with NauticEd you pay $US394. At a school, they will probably charge you for the theory plus practical combined.

    Whats the difference between ipc and icc

    • @NauticEd
      @NauticEd  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      IPC is ASA's made up certificate. ICC is created by United Nations under resolution 40.

      @@NauticEd So in that case should we Focus on ICC instead of ASA certs?

    • @NauticEd
      @NauticEd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sanjayrajsoni The NauticEd SLC is fully recognized internationally and is also a recognized sailing education body by the US Coast Guard. ASA is not - ASA is a privately held company.
