This album is something special man... I hope you all enjoy the video, as much as I enjoyed making it! More Kanye Albums are definitely coming up on the future :)

At 2:12:43 when you asked if something had been released prior to college dropout the answer is no, before college dropout Kanye was just a famous producer that also wanted to become an artist. But at that time everyone doubted him and kept telling him to just stick to producing since he was already a successful producer, which he was producing for one of the biggest artist at that time (Jay-Z) and that he wasn’t going to be successful as an artist. So that’s what Kanye is referring to in the line “they expected that college dropout to drop and then flop”. (Also that explains why Kanye had a Jay-Z feature on his debut album because they were already really close since Kanye was Jay-Z’s main producer)
As for the non song, spoken word tracks, You’ll hear them referred to as “skits” or “interludes” and you’re almost spot on. They’re commonly used to help portray the theme or motifs of an album or run of songs. A lot of the best rappers out there are able to make albums thematic or almost like one long auditory art peice i.e. TPAB by Kendrick or 808’s by Kanye. But other times they’re just used to break up albums like an intermission in a musical
I’m sure you hear this all the time, but his next album Late Registration, is the College Dropout but arguably better and factually more orchestral and grand sounding. The great lyrics and vibes from the college dropout with much more complex and beautiful instrumentals, definitely check out the whole album. Love the video.
Im glad i found this channel so i can see you on your journey! Love the full album videos! (Also you dont have to apologize for rambling i think your musical breakdowns mixed with quips on personal or general ideas is great!)
Great video, I'm glad you took the time to do this. Props to you, man 🙂. Also, 'iced up' from Breathe in Breath out means to be wearing a lot of diamonds.
if you like constantly evolving beats and stuff you should DEFINITELY check out childish gambino. In his later stuff he doesn't rap like at all so it's more hiphop/soul/funk. But his 2nd and 3rd album are ones I would recommend for first listeners (He raps in his 2nd album btw)
One thing that makes Kanye so important is is diversity of samples. The sample in Never Let Me Down is Michael Bolton’s pro-solo group (forget the name). But he adds on all those layers you mentioned. On the other hand Through the Wire is pretty much just Chaka Khan’s Through the Fire sped up with an OutKast drum beat under it. And that’s just two tracks 🤯
Love your breakdown and reaction! I would out a strong recommendation for you to start reviewing some Kendrick Lamar albums, Good Kid M.A.A.D City is a good place to start! Lots of depth and lyrical density!!
Really liked the reaction! You should check out "My beautiful dark twisted fantasy" if you havent already. It has some of the best production and rapping performances by Kanye
So that is a sped up distored sample of aretha franklin spirit in the dark. She was a part of the production and gave ye premission under the stipulation there where no swear words hence how he edits them out. Please listen to YEEZUS🎉🎉❤
Nice reaction, family business is a beautiful song. Please give the band King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard a try, the album PetroDragonic Apocalypse is amazing heavy metal. They are extremely prolific and have an album for every genre pretty much.
Ahaha what's funny is that you're not the first person to suggest king gizzard and the lizard wizard to me, and I even knew of them beforehand! I'd love to feature them on the channel though!
Eventually haha - Not sure about the timeframe. Unfortunately doing Kanye videos is always difficult because of copyright issues. So getting a Kanye video out can easily take upwards of 2 weeks just for the copyright to get resolved 😅
Kanye’s definitely not the sole inventor of rap singing… but he sure did make it the most popular form of HipHop ever. Drake, Travis Scott, Tyler the Creator, XXXTentacion, Juice Wrld all took heavy inspiration from Kanye, And they were the biggest artists of our generation
The new workout plan talks about how women feel that the only way to have financial freedom is to 'work out' and get fit so that an already rich man will then get with them. Basically a song about how deep-rooted sexism makes women think the only way to have money is to get with a rich man

I've definitely heard that a few times yeah, and I am definitely going to check it out at some point!
imo college dropout is 100% better than lr
@@fan6.s definitely, i think that it’s arguable both ways, sometimes i think TCD is better and sometimes it feels like LR is better, depends for me.
LR is top tier ye. My fave along with MBDTF and yeezus
@@Liamk-si5tl yeah im super bipolar when it comes to deciding if i like TCD or LR more, really depends on the day
Im glad i found this channel so i can see you on your journey! Love the full album videos! (Also you dont have to apologize for rambling i think your musical breakdowns mixed with quips on personal or general ideas is great!)
Thanks man! That means a lot - I do have a tendency to yap a bit haha 😆

Never let me down is GREAT!

Thanks man! Next video just so happens to be Good kid maad city ;)
Please do listen to Kendrick Lamar's Mr. Morale & the big steppers. It's very unique album with very interesting choice of production.

singing in graduation day is john legend
Really liked the reaction! You should check out "My beautiful dark twisted fantasy" if you havent already. It has some of the best production and rapping performances by Kanye
Thanks! I think I've heard like 1 or 2 songs from it, but i'd love to cover the entire thing!
And it has Devil in a new dress!

React to Pimp a Butterfly!
and also Famiy Business was sampled in 90210 by Travis
Wait really? That's sick!
Do every kaye albumn including scraped 😅❤
You should listen to kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly. Very good production with real drums other instruments.
I 100% wanna check out to pimp a butterfly!
theres a ton of unreleased songs that kanye made before the college dropout like the Freshman Adjustment EP so he was already known by people
kanye has always worked with session musicians throughout his career, so you'll always hear live instrumentation
You should finish the trilogy now with late reg and then graduation, there all amazing albums
That's exactly the plan haha 😆
@@dyver123 everyone has a different favorite between the three so I’m interested to see yours
every kanye fan has cried to family buissness atleast once
$UICIDEBOY$ NEW ALBUM pls do album reaction, it deserves it. I think you would like the beats in it
late registration video when?
Eventually haha - Not sure about the timeframe. Unfortunately doing Kanye videos is always difficult because of copyright issues. So getting a Kanye video out can easily take upwards of 2 weeks just for the copyright to get resolved 😅
PLEASE DO Good Kid m.A.A.d city

You’re going to love Late registration. The orchestration is a lot more pronounced in there.
Definitely checking out late registration too!
I would like to inform everyone here i beat Bael the Dread and Rellana while listening to this video. :D
Good job, man! That's no easy feat haha
yo you should listen to the new $uicideboy$ album that just dropped “new world depression”
Definitely gonna check it out at some point! But I'm working on another reaction rn ;)

That's pretty rad! It's a fun way to portray that message seeing as the song itself seems so funny and lighthearted!
