    CORRECTION:
    Ubs = 1.0 when the tension stress is uniform (angles, gusset plates, and most
    coped beams) and Ubs = 0.5 when the tension stress is nonuniform.
    Since the tensile stress at failure letter C is nonuniform, dahil may mga bolts pa na magsasalo ng tensile stress mula dun sa failure path ng tensile, therefor ang Ubs na gagamitin at C is 0.50.
    Therefore:
    Pnc = 338.53 + 400(0.5)(806)/1000
    Pnc = 499.72 kN
    ØPn = 374.79 kN
    Pn/Ω = 249.86 kN

    Engr., bakit po divided by 2 na po ang sa failure at c?

      Divide 2 nalang po kasi sa top layer nalang po yung kukunin na shear. Diba po sa pag cut nya po nung una which is yung failure path "a" is dalawang shear ang makukuha sa top layer ang bottom layer.

      Then sa failure path "c" is sa top layer lang yung na cut for shear which is yung dalawa't kalahati na bolt sa top

      Bali po yung Anv=(175-2.5(20))(13)=1625. Don lang po sa top layer. Kasi sa bottom layer d na po kasali sa pag cut. That's why divide 2 nalang po yung A sa C.

      Same as Agv=175x13=2275

    sir, bakit po ba minumultiply ng 2 ang shear net area or shear gross area?

      For the shear net area, i think because top and bottom part ang nag shear. For the gross area same rin, kase top and bottom ang subject to shear.

      Dalawa po yung layer ng connection na nagundergo ng shear stress.
