    Nice video. Will be starting to build my "wings" this weekend, but won't be able to finish on Monday, as I am going to see the Yankees whoop on the White Sox in Chicago! Nice hat!

    i really like your setup, nice outriggers. how do you feel about the the battery jig and the collins base? i'm really considering making the plunge to try it out. i'm mostl;y on milwaukee system, so i would lean toward them...any feedback if you've tried their jigsaw?

      I like the collins foot but it’s a pain to change back so I bought a second jig saw 😂 The Dewalt jig saw blows the Milwaukee out of the water

      @@jlgwoodworking3157 gotcha, i was thinking i might need a specified jigsaw for the collins base. appreciate the feedback, keep up the great work brother!!

    impressive set up, is this something you came up with, or was it a spin off other carpenters? I also follow Spencer Lewis from Insider carpenter, yours is very similarly built. I'm in no way implying that you copied him, don't get me wrong. I like how you have figured a way to attach your extensions, have you consider installing a measuring tape, or you feel there's no need for it? I have both saw and stand, plus and extra pair of mounting brackets. Thanks for posting and sharing your ideas, best regards.

      I’ve been adding and changing over the years , they’re vans so you are going to have some similar stuff

      I had a measuring tape when it fell out I didn’t replace it because I always measured anyway as I never trusted the one on the saw always thinking it may have moved 😀

    great set up.
    2 questions.
    why do you use those supports under the wings and not the dewalt support legs for the stand. they are a lot smaller and easier to adjust.
    why dont you leave the saw on the brackets. what do you gain . it seems a huge time waste to me.

    • @jlgwoodworking3157
      @jlgwoodworking3157  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used the ridgid supports because I had them laying around , I switched to the Dewalt support legs for that exact reason they take up less space

    • @jlgwoodworking3157
      @jlgwoodworking3157  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The brackets sitting on the saw tend to break , the black plastic part isn’t that strong

      @MelbourneAlan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jlgwoodworking3157 i havent found that at all on my saws. my oldest saw is 12 years old and still on its first set of brackets. 3 more saws no issues, 6 more sets on various tables and jigs and other tools and no issues.

    I'm seeing more and more of these. You spend $100-$500 on the stand and THEN add wood to get it the way you want it?
    Why not START with some sawhorses and a 2x12 plank, which you can use for other things, and THEN build your add ons?
