Worth $10,000 in Profit? I bought this locker for $1,800 at the abandoned storage unit auction.

After 4 days of auctions, I finally found a locker worth bidding on, and I bought it. I paid $1,800 for it, which a lot of money, but it looked clean and well organized, and I saw some expensive items which gave me a feeling. So far that feeling has proved correct, as I've found lots of high end items and even cash and gift cards!
In this episode, I'll dig through a bunch more of the totes and pull out more great stuff. I'm starting to realize the worth on some stuff, and might be looking at $10,000 in profit... or more!

It is very interesting when you break down cost vs. return. I would be interested in your labour hours for a unit this size. A guesstimate, as I know you work on more than one units items at once. Thanks for making such interesting videos.
You'll sell the exercise stuff quicker in sets on your auction. You need to throw in a few small items or sets once in a while for people who are not resellers.
Not "robbing" the hotel. The products are there for the use of the guests. Nothing wrong with taking home what you haven't used. PLEASE keep that stuff and donate it to a battered women's shelter, homeless shelter, child services, etc.

the location of most "battered women's shelters" are kept private for obvious reasons.
These are great for the homeless because they can carry around use and discard without having heavy bottles. I am clearing lockers and have a local contact. She gets towels, mittens, winter hats, scarves, and toiletries such as those from hotels and smaller sized bottles. Works out great!

Sandra Williamson I was just going to post that!! Not only Women's Shelters, but homeless, child abuse, all types of shelters take those small hotel necessities. I hope he does not throw them away....

Just to let you know. The stuff from the hotels my mission team uses them to put into our "Bags of Blessings". We give these bags to the homeless.

Jack you know all those " hotel stuff" you could donate those to the homeless or box them up and sell them at the flea market, just don't throw them away.
He's throwing them into his flea market tote so I think he's planning on flea market. But definitely agree he should donate any that don't sell
When I stayed in the abused women's shelter we were given toiletries as was given to them, so I ended up with men's soap. It was really jarring. If you ever come across toiletries like this please consider donating them to the women's shelter so that doesn't happen to other women. The last thing you want when feeling afraid is to smell a man around you all the time

Hey, I don’t know if you would be interested in doing this... but we have some people around here that take “old” bags and purses that won’t get much selling and they take the hotel toiletries and make care packages for the homeless people. Just a thought 💭

@@janna5157 The same goes for over the counter medication. As long as they aren't many years expired charities will take them and give them to homeless people. An asprin or tylenol doesn't go bad even if it's past its sell by date =)

From what i remember they want you to take all the stuff so every time you use them you remember the hotel where you got them. It is advertisement for the hotel,

I believe that the hotel are supposed to throw away unused soaps and shampoo. Just in case they were tampered with.
I’m not sure about the throwaway policy, but if Jack thinks the next guest is getting a break on his room price because the previous tenets left the soap, etc., he’s dead wrong. It’s not stealing because it’s figured into the cost of the room. I take mine to donate to homeless or abuse shelters.
They now have programs where they take used soaps, repurpose them then they go to developing countries. It is awesome!

Jack - taking the hotel lotions etc. is not stealing! I understand most hotels toss those bottles into the garbage when cleaning a room. Due to health concerns, these items are not recycled!

Not sure if the hospice in your area is like ours, but they love hotel toiletries for people staying with their dying family or friend member. Something to consider.

You should sell the empty dust bags for the purses. They sell starting at $25 on EBay usually and are easy to ship.
If that one box was for a black American Express card, you have to spend a minimum of either 150,000.00 or 100,000.00 a month to get one if them..

Online we sell on our eBay store or in our live auctions. Most the other merch gets sold locally on Facebook, OfferUp, garage sale, etc. or we bring it to the flea market. However we're not selling those bedding items. They are quite nice!

Yes
So obviously you and the wife do this as a business. So though $10 grand is an impressive return on the $1800 purchase, your time has a cost to it. Also, how long does it take to sell the majority of those items? If it takes months to get the bulk of that money, you have to ask yourself if the rate of return is a good use of the money. I notice some of the storage guys are selling the big items quick to recoup costs and make profit, and then selling the rest of the stuff as cheap and as quick as possible so their not sitting on potential money. I find this entire business model fascinating but wonder if the TH-cam “salary” is really the goal. Nevertheless, I still enjoy watching your videos! Locker on and best of luck!

Jack they did not 'steal' stuff from the hotels. Expensive hotels actually offer you cosmetics, slippers and that sort of thing. They come with the room...so not stealing

I bet these people won’t some kind of cash prize and spent there money poorly and bought all this expensive stuff and didn’t have enough money to pay there bills.

You can put those bath products in a zippy bag. Then hand them out to the homeless when ever you see one

My guess is that they spent more money than they had coming in and it caught up with them. Sad.

Those high limit credit cards come in fancy boxes like that. Those Credit Cards also have a huge annual fee on them. Not worth it in my opinion.
