    its also called as raag rudrapriya ...

  • @ashwinrohin
    @ashwinrohin 16 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Beautiful rendition. It is interesting that Shri U. Srinivas renders the ragam rudrapriya as pUrNashaDjam, which as the following scale:
    ArO: s r2 g2 m1 n2 n2 S
    ava: S n2 p m1 g2 r2 s
    The ArOhaNam/avarOhanam of rudrapriya is as follows:
    ArO: s r2 g2 m1 p d2 n2 S
    ava: S n2 p m1 g2 r2 s
    The absense of d2 and inclusion two n2's in both the kriti and kalpana svarAs suggests this is perhaps a deliberate omission - nonetheless it's a beautiful kriti.

  • @AmbyShankar

    Rudrapriya has Karaharapriya's avarohanam unlike Purnashadjam

  • @sammukeshav
    @sammukeshav 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's a derivative of kAfi in terms of hindustani music.

    • @ranerez438
      @ranerez438 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you are correct. Family wise speaking.. there might be some specific Ragas in the kafi branch that melodically speaking according to behaviour of melody would fit more but that doesn't matter.. it certainly has a Kafi feeling in it. Long live Swami Dikshitar.. these are pure saints that gave us all their gifts

    Is he playing a kid size guitar?

    • @ShootMyMonkey
      @ShootMyMonkey  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      An electric mandolin. He modified it to have 5 strings, though, so he made it work by simply slapping on a guitar headstock (which are widely available). One of the 6 machine heads is not used. And the tuning is fifth-tonic-fifth-tonic-fifth.
