In answer to your question. From what I know...The side pipes were a dealer installed option starting in 1969. My brother had a 1968 390 with the automatic, white exterior/ red interior that my uncle bought new. One of the cars we wish was still in the family. Great cars. Lots of fun to drive. You are correct that the seats had a pattern in the center. The 68 seats were also all one color. Not sure about the 69 and 70. I do know that leather was available starting in 69.
These cars have a left and a right windshield wiper arm. Yours are reversed. You have the drivers side on the passenger side, and the passenger side on the drivers side. To prove this: just turn on the wipers, and watch the wiper on the drivers side hit the "A-Pilar". That's why the one you have one the passenger side has more of an angle to prevent this. You're welcome. Gawd, you would not believe how many 1960's Lincoln "experts" I have told this same thing.
Guess nobody said it enough X.. lol it was a SOLAR eclipse. A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth is between the sun and moon. No biggie.. we're humans.
Id clean the interior up, go after minor rust and daily that car. Not sure that isnt some aftermarket spoiler. Dont recall ever seeing anythin glike that come on these.
The Go-package included power front disc brakes, heavy duty cooling, handling package, twin grip rear axle, E70x14 redwall tires and over-the-top racing stripes. I have a Beale St. blue '69 with the 390, 4-speed and go package.
That spoiler and side pipes needs to go just to nitpic otherwise very nice AMX with great color combo.the number plaque was just a gimmick with no significance to any sequence.
Gorgeous! Not forgotten, Cherished!
This is the exact type of car for me. The condition is presentable. Perfect for a driver.
I had a 1968 white with red interior and stripe. 390 4 speed loved this car wish I still had it. Fast car. ♥️♥️
benton city? barney paxton had one.. 69 maybe tho?
That's a sharp AMX. Looks good gold.

Thanks!
My dream car !
Beautiful.
BEST looking car!!!!!!!!!
I had one of these back in the 90s. Same paint / strips colors, but with a black interior and 4-speed.

That is a really good price.
I love mine.
That's a pretty clean AMX. I almost bought a 4sp one back in the 70's .
Beautiful car...last time I've one was in the 80's. Not you're common grocery getter...very rare to see one outside a car show
AMX 2-seater production: 1968 was 6,725, 1969 was 8,293 and 1970 was 4,116. Total was 19,134 cars. 🙂
12,409 of those with the 390 in it.
What a beautiful AMX, so cool, like your content, just subbed
Thanks!
That's stunning.
Guess nobody said it enough X.. lol it was a SOLAR eclipse. A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth is between the sun and moon. No biggie.. we're humans.
awesome!!!
I think the actual exhaust pipe is wrong, but the heat shield looks right.
Worked with a guy that had a white one in 1975
Id clean the interior up, go after minor rust and daily that car.

Solar eclipse not lunar eclipse.
Also love the AMX. Friend of mine had one with 343 4 speed in a beautiful dark green.
moon beam
The plaque is correct.
The SC Rambler and the Rebel Machine, both came out after the AMX.
I do not believe the Go Pack came with the side pipes or the spoiler. At least, none that I have ever seen. She is a beauty!

Could the plaque number be the number starting in 1968 up until 1970 when they stopped making them.
12002 is the question , all of you experts
Indeed.....

are the Side Pipe's factory ?
Honestly I can't be sure but I believe they were a dealer add on. At least period correct.
Solar..ya mean😂
Its a solar eclipse....... Not lunar.
