I didn't know where it originated from, so I looked it up on Google and found the episode. I actually watched the entire thing, but while it certainly kept me entertained, I didn't find it really fun to watch. It made no sense, and it was clearly aimed at a younger audience.

I'd argue that there is a fascinating psychological perspective to this show. I loved it as a kid (Looney Toones starring Sonic) but as an adult the way they presented humor and themes is fascinating to me.
You vastly underestimate the threat that is Robotnik. He only seems so goofy and harmless because Sonic is always there to stop him. Pay attention to what he's actually trying to do, and to the fact that he would succeed if not for Sonic stopping him. You do NOT want him to win.
I disagree with the fetishy stuff. I mean look at the Looney Tunes made by Bob Clampett and Tex Avery. Hell even Ren and stimpy, they use the same style of humor. a good example would be the 1938 classic Porky In Wackyland
It seems like a lot of kid's cartoons had a lot of fetishism in them or just perverted art. (Think 80s cartoons where the little girl has to wear a two piece in at least one episode. Ugh... I feel like I need to be arrested for seeing that...) Nowadays you don't get away with that kind of humor, because of child protection laws and such. Somehow that seems to have made kid's cartoons a lot worse nowadays, because now they just use gross-out humor and trippy art. At least I can stomach Looney Tunes... But most of the humor in something like Teen Titans Go is just ironically funny. (I can watch a few modern shows, though. At least Sonic Boom and Star Wars Rebels aren't so dumbed-down.)

One thing I always liked about this show was the background art. The random abstract, splattery watercolor paintings are cool and remind me of Ren and Stimpy that did a similar thing sometimes.
Crispybiscuits seriously! This generation seriously needed more Looney Tunes/Tom & Jerry/Popeye/etc. in their childhood. It's like the concept of a cartoon being silly and gag-driven is completely foreign to them.
When it comes to personal preference, I like this review (along with Coombas & Kuroba's video on this show) because of how much it doesn't go so hard on this show. I also like it since it shares a more genuine take on this, especially when EyeOfSol & the Nostalgia Critic went way too hard on this show in a somewhat unforgiving way. 10:44 is one example of why I instantly love this video with that fact in mind.
as a person who watched the adventures of sonic the hedgehog, i'd say i preferred it over sonic x, or sonic boom, as those were dry of slapstick comedy, and there was this notion that sonic could not fail. the adventures of sonic the hedgehog did at least make an attempt to place sonic in a position where he had to be rescued by his colleagues.

Did you check out the Chaos Emeralds arc of AOSTH? It had very good animation (for this show) and an ongoing story, and it involved Chaos Emeralds. It was more plot driven and generally better written than most of the episodes.

I've been watching the episodes all the way through (almost finished with it) and it actually does get a little serious. There was an episode where Sonic had to be at two places at once (it involved trains). That's intense for the cartoon that it is. And there were a couple of times that forced Sonic to *seriously* use his noggin. Like the one where Sonic is stuck in a sub underwater. Stuff like that. I think it's pretty good. Plus, it even had its own mini-saga where three or four episodes actually had a plot back to back (and also let us know Sonic's a ladies man ;D) Never thought about it being weird. I'm just immune to toon logic lol Bugs Bunny is something I enjoy so I don't question most logic ^^ Also, this show is where I learned moss on trees is useful for navigation :D Wait.... did you say 150 eps? I'd argue that there is a fascinating psychological perspective to this show. I loved it as a kid (Looney Toones starring Sonic) but as an adult the way they presented humor and themes is fascinating to me.

You vastly underestimate the threat that is Robotnik. He only seems so goofy and harmless because Sonic is always there to stop him. Pay attention to what he's actually trying to do, and to the fact that he would succeed if not for Sonic stopping him. You do NOT want him to win.

It seems like a lot of kid's cartoons had a lot of fetishism in them or just perverted art. (Think 80s cartoons where the little girl has to wear a two piece in at least one episode. Ugh... I feel like I need to be arrested for seeing that...)
Nowadays you don't get away with that kind of humor, because of child protection laws and such. Somehow that seems to have made kid's cartoons a lot worse nowadays, because now they just use gross-out humor and trippy art. At least I can stomach Looney Tunes... But most of the humor in something like Teen Titans Go is just ironically funny.
(I can watch a few modern shows, though. At least Sonic Boom and Star Wars Rebels aren't so dumbed-down.)

One thing I always liked about this show was the background art. The random abstract, splattery watercolor paintings are cool and remind me of Ren and Stimpy that did a similar thing sometimes.

To be fair, I think Sonic grabbed the rubber band to shoot Scratch and Grounder by cutting it out of one of the pairs of underwear.
When it comes to personal preference, I like this review (along with Coombas & Kuroba's video on this show) because of how much it doesn't go so hard on this show.
I also like it since it shares a more genuine take on this, especially when EyeOfSol & the Nostalgia Critic went way too hard on this show in a somewhat unforgiving way.
10:44 is one example of why I instantly love this video with that fact in mind.
I come back to this video occasionally just to watch the part with Ray at the begining.

as a person who watched the adventures of sonic the hedgehog, i'd say i preferred it over sonic x, or sonic boom, as those were dry of slapstick comedy, and there was this notion that sonic could not fail. the adventures of sonic the hedgehog did at least make an attempt to place sonic in a position where he had to be rescued by his colleagues.

Did you check out the Chaos Emeralds arc of AOSTH? It had very good animation (for this show) and an ongoing story, and it involved Chaos Emeralds. It was more plot driven and generally better written than most of the episodes.

I've been watching the episodes all the way through (almost finished with it) and it actually does get a little serious. There was an episode where Sonic had to be at two places at once (it involved trains). That's intense for the cartoon that it is. And there were a couple of times that forced Sonic to *seriously* use his noggin. Like the one where Sonic is stuck in a sub underwater. Stuff like that. I think it's pretty good. Plus, it even had its own mini-saga where three or four episodes actually had a plot back to back (and also let us know Sonic's a ladies man ;D)
Never thought about it being weird. I'm just immune to toon logic lol Bugs Bunny is something I enjoy so I don't question most logic ^^
Also, this show is where I learned moss on trees is useful for navigation :D
