If I was an investor in l&t I would pick my money back cos d ceo is not reliable & can't manage to deliver work within 6 days , clearly. U can't say if my car had wings I could reach early. Drive it rightly.& Also don't know how much salary narayanmurti gives. In usa d tech guys get 50 lakhs to 1.5 cr. Do dy hv extra hands? U hv a company what salary u pay? Another suggestion i have for India to boost its productivity to rehire these Oldies as entry level employees and start making them work for 150 hours per week.
For the chairman, I suggest he should feel the life of a construction engineer, an admin manager, a watchman each role for few days living exactly how people in such job roles are living, in a1RK, 1BHK non AC, commute by bus, train 8n second class, work for just eight hours. This is essential for empathy and improved emotional intelligence in him. He lacks a lot and is incapable in his current job role.
If you are boss of your own business then even if you work for 24*7 continuously there is nothing wrong in it but if you are just an employer then why the hell should you work for more than the 60hrs+ per week , its makes no sense unless you get paid the amount for which you work like in terms of shares , more money or bonus etc . See the effects of long working hours continuously many people die because of it so there should be work life balance just like europe (which has the highest productive people )otherwise whats the purpose of earning money when you are not able to spend your own money ? So at the end i would say a balanced approach is necessary and we should try to improve the productivity of each individual rather than increasing the number of hours .

Yeah, he can retire by working this hard in just two years. We don’t have that privilege. We have to work and stay in good shape, both mentally and physically, for a longer time. We have our families to look after. He probably has help, but we can’t afford that.

Sadly, 70-80% physical and mental workers are already doing 12 plus hours for 6 days which goes over 70 hours but get paid for 8 hours.
