DJI must’ve got rid of the feature where I can go on my SD card and find a panoramic folder. It looks like it automatically stitches everything together and that is the only thing I can use. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Wondering if there’s a setting I’m missing I just don’t see that feature
Really impressive camera quality on the Air 2S. I need to learn more about getting those pano shots. I’ll be surely going back and forth watching this video for reference. Thank you for sharing!
I bought a Pro licence for PT GUI last year. I agree it’s an amazing piece of software and once you have learnt how to use it, not as daunting as it first seems. In the past I’ve always shot AEB panoramas manually. I ordered a M3 yesterday so will have to wait until January for the full functionality of both AEB and Panoramas. Panoramic shots are probably my favourite type of aerial photography. Very few good PT GUI tutorials on TH-cam. Posting one would be popular I think.
Very interesting Craig, I am planning to do very soon a video about simple manual panos with the Mavic 3 using PTGUI. It will be interesting to hear your opinions
Many thanks, I will certainly do it and I con't wait. I had to post pone it due to plenty of new important products being released, but I will do it soon
Vic is firing on all four cylinders with this drone, absolutely loving your content Vic, thank you for all of your hard work, it’s certainly paying dividends as the content continues to draw me in and interested. As a stills photographer i’m especially interested to learn the skills you teach but your also motivating me on the video front, one of the few I save and replay their videos. You said to say if we’d like to see more on panoramas, we’ll i’m up for that for sure, a video on manual panoramas would be very helpful. Many thanks. 👏
Hi Vic, thanks for the great video ! Question: I need to take a 360 degree panoramic photo on top of a building so it can be uploaded to the designers website at "The View" from the building. I have the Air 2s and was wondering what's the best way of getting the shot so that they can upload it to their website without seeing the whole sky and the actual building (they don't want the building in the photo at all) What's the best way of going about this and is there a software ill need to convert into this type of photo. Thanks for anyone who can reply!
Hi, I have not tried any online services for panorama, but this article lists some popular ones: www.widsmob.com/resource/panorama-online.html Hope this helps
Another great video on an often under appreciated feature of the Air 2 & Air 2S and other modern drones. I take 360 panos with my Air 2 and Air 2S and generally get great results - especially if I start the automated sequence in the position near where the sun is as it exposes that area correctly to start with. I do find the stitching a bit off sometimes on plain ocean horizons so would appreciate a video on how PTGUI handles that better using the raw images. Thank you.
Many thanks, I think I will soon do a video on extreme panoramas shot manually and then put together with PTGuy. Generally videos about post processing are not very popular, but I know that a lot of people on my audience loves Pano. It will be great fun!
You are right, if you want to take a full sphere photo the the sky on top is missing. I don't see a solution , even by shooting a pano manually. The only way is to mount a 360 degrees camera on a drone, like the Insta360
Hi Ken, you are absolutely right. I always find that annoying, as the JPEG clutter the folder without any use. I asked several times to DJI to offer the choice of RAW only. In the new version of DJI Fly app it is now possible to choose RAW only, at least for the Mavic 3. I believe it should also be the case for the Air 2S
Hey Vic, I am experimenting with the panos from my Air 2S. I have downloaded Hugin and successfully stitched together some panos. When I view them using the FSPviewer, they have a fish eye like distortion whereas the automatic output from the drone does not. I have uploaded it to the Kuula website and the Hugin output does not have the distortion. What parameters am I missing on FSPviewer? It seems there are not many to choose from. Thanks for your help!
I Andrew, Ptgui is an very powerful software. It i possible to choose several different visualisations with more or less distortion. I would love to do a detailed video about it, the problem is that these sort of videos are too technicaland get very little interest. I suggest to have a look at the tutorials made by Ptgui themelves: ptgui.com/videotutorials.html
My Air 2 S only produces the Media folder with auto generated files... There is no panorama folder, however it takes the 26 pictures during the capture... What am i doing wrong?? Please, help!
I am not sure what the issue is. Are you not getting the individual RAW or JPEG files? Have you selected the option to save individual files as shown at 2:45 of this video?
The Phantom 4 Pro used to have an automatic exposure lock (blue icon) which one could disable however the Air2S doesn't seem to have it. The image gets too dark as for 360* the lighting keeps changing. Is there anyway to disable the exposure lock?
Hi, if you use automatic exposure, the exposure values will change according to changes in luminosity. If you want to maintain constant exposure values you can use manual exposure. You can toggle between manual and automatic exposure using the icon at the bottom right of the screen
I tried 180 for the first time today. I waited until it showed completed and carried on with flight. However when I downloaded my files, the pano (not pics) did not exist. Did a process possibly not finish?
Hi, this is strange, if it showed completed, the automatic pano should have been saved. On the memory disk, the automatic panos are saved on a file named "100 Media", while the individual photos in files named "Panorama"
@@VICVideopIC Thanks. My guess is it wasn't actually completed, even though the button turned green. I tried again the next day (this time only wide angle) and it worked fine.
Can anyone help me? My drone is the air2s, when I took a spherical photo it automatically joined the photos together, making them one. I don't know if I changed the settings and now it doesn't connect anymore, they stay loose and need a third program. How do I configure the drone to do it automatically?
Hi Vic, are you able to get the little planet effect with Lightroom? I like the occasional pano shot however I don't think I will be shooting them often enough to pay for yet another software.
Hi Tarek, no, I could not get it with LR, I have heard report of users getting it somehow with Google Earth, but I don't know really how to do it. As I said I use PTGuy for these situations
Hi, in regular panorama (non HDR) we can chose to save each photo in RAW and then stitched for a pano using an editing software. HDR panos can be done manually, not using he panorama mode, bt simply taking each bracketed photo and manually rotating the camera, as I explain at 2:30 in this video
Thanks for your presentation! I often have difficulty with Lightroom processing raw files for a panorama using my Air 2S, frankly the M2P was better. I would like you to do a separate video on processing panoramas with software recommendations.
Thank you Peter, I have also had many issues using Lightroom with the Air 2S, while it works well with other Mavic models. I had not seen anything about it on the web, so I thought it was only me. I will certainly do another video for Panorama heroes, using PTGuy and analyzing also manual pano and HDR pano. It will be fun!
Has anyone noticed that a 9 photo panoramic shot stitched in Lightroom outputs a photo with a fisheye effect? My P4P never did this. Someone said it was because the air 2s lens correction wasn’t recognized by Lightroom. Any fixes for this? Great video, BTW!
Thanks Vic. Really love your channel. Great tips on panoramas. I use Photo Stitcher on my MacBook Pro. What are your thoughts on this one, and your opinion of the best free stitcher for MacBooks?
Many thanks, I am on Windows, and have not tried Photo Stitcher. Hugin is a very popular free software and works on Mac, it is quite good, but very slow in my computer. The king is PTguy, but it is not free

Hey Vic have you had any problems with your Pano stitching along the horizon where the sky meets the water I've been having some problems where the water line is broken up staggered like stepped especially taking it over the water with air 2s never with A2 though... I've tried automatically recalibrating on a level surface I've also even tried manually adjusting the Horizon in the sky but when I take a pano that has a water line in it I noticed at least in one spot if not multiple spots two or three times it'll step the horizontal water line
Hi, What program are you using? With Lightroom I had some problem stitching panos with the Air 2S (never any problems with any other drone). Large bodies of water are a notorious difficult task for panos, as the program need some strong reference point for stitching
Hello, Love the video. I am looking to invest in the drone. i am professional panoramic photographer. Would you share your RAW 360 files of your air2s with me? I want to play around with it try to stich and test before I decide to buy.
This drone would stuck in a tilted angle with windy condition, while my Mavic 2 Pro does not have this issue. Anyone has the same problem? Also, if you take wide angle pano (9 images), a street is often misaligned badly. Although you could use Lightroom, the street will not be straight.
