    I love the story behind this fragrance. Thank you for sharing it with us. Lavender is often challenging for me but I love anise. So I am in a bit of a pickle. However, I am so intrigued my the story behind the scent that I want to try it out. I will report back. Great series. Please continue to make videos in this series.

    nice series Yve. I also like stories behind scents, especially when they are personal and we get to know the creator that little bit more. Maybe that is also a reason why some do not reveal the whole inspiration even if there was one, it can be very personal. And of course we can not get one from a hired nose.

      That's a really good point! It does kind of put some creators in a vulnerable position when they share so much of a personal story.

    Great video. Not sure if it was intentional but your comment about the fragrance walking with you evokes religious sentiment very nicely, to go along with the st James way story of the perfume. I own buen Camino and playa linda and I agree wholeheartedly about needing to highlight and support the passionate good perfume artists out there so they don’t get lost in the noise. I got semi angry when I watched a persolaise interview with a niche brand owner saying he started his company as an exercise in demonstrating luxury brand marketing. That story of appealing to people’s vapid desire for luxury is not one that will ever appeal to me. Unfortunately it feels like a lot of us are in the minority.

      Thanks, Kelly! Haha I wish I could say it was intentional, but it just came out while I was talking. But I think the story behind the fragrance kind of primed me in a way, without me knowing it. I think I know what interview you're referring to, and I feel the same way you do.

    Great series! I love hearing the stories behind these expressions and works of art (not just selling an image). Makes me feel closer to them. I won a sample pack from Amina and Maite. Glad I got to experience this one🥰

    I remember hearing about Buen Camino on Amina’s channel! Carter’s story + your overview of the fragrance and it’s inspiration… this was dope!!! I’m really hype for this series! I know they won’t be one after another, but I’m excited to see what’s next. This is really cool, Yve.

    Piping in to say that my favorite part of this is toward the end when you say something like “it’s not the type of fragrance that will walk ahead of you, it walks with you.” I’m not sure if that phrasing was intentional / intentionally riffing on “walk” because it flowed out so naturally in your sentence that it didn’t sound like it was something you planned to say, but ngl, I don’t care even if it was, because that’s one of the best interpretations / explanations of BC I’ve heard from anyone, period. Thank you so, so much for this! How friggin special!

      I wish I could say that I had planned to say it intentionally! 😂 But no, it just happened. Maybe I was primed by the setting of your story. Thanks for giving us fragrance lovers something beautiful to wear. I really do love it!

    Great start to this series! Never smelled this before, but I think your description serves as a great addendum to Carter's copy. On that note, do you think that the essence of an 'artistic' perfume is some transportative element? Meaning, should it evoke some clear image, either remembered or imagined?

    • @yvespiderssmells9956
      @yvespiderssmells9956  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hm that's an interesting question. I think for me, i appreciate it more as an artistic fragrance if it does have a transportive quality to it.
