  • What does the Bible have to do with our lives today? Skeptics are shocked to hear that people in the twenty-first century still believe this ancient book and take it seriously. But the Bible is far more than an old book written by men long ago. In this session, Dr. Burk Parsons addresses the trustworthiness of Scripture, its authority as our guide for life, and how we can defend the Bible as the Word of God.
    Dr. Burk Parsons acknowledges, with great appreciation, that several aspects of this message are based on Why You Can Believe the Bible by Dr. Voddie Baucham ( • Why you can believe th... ), Why We Believe - The Bible is God’s Word by Pastor Jeff Durbin ( • Why We Believe - The B... ), Can I Trust the Bible? by Dr. Robert Plummer ( • Can I trust the Bible? ), as well as the work of Dr. John D Currid, Dr. Michael J. Kruger, Dr. R.C. Sproul, Dr. Daniel B. Wallace, J. Warner Wallace, and Dr. Thomas Woodward.
    This message is from Always Ready: Apologetics 101, a conference for young students: • Always Ready: Apologet...

    This is a critical topic in our times, because edifying & evangelism are all the more crucial as the Church Age draws nearer/near it's close. TY.

    Thank you for being a leader & shepherd, for standing up for us in a time, I feel some pastors are dumbing down the Lord’s word, trying to pull cards out from the truth it stands for. We trust the Bible By Faith based on the acceptance he gives us. He is standing by. From those who love him, who seek him, and want his will for our lives this message is the meat that needs to be preached by all pastors right now. Our country needs it! The world needs it.
    Thank you Ligonier for another solid message giving the hope we need. Faith alone.
    (I am in incognito, so sorry if my handle offends or sounds disrespectful..an old Christian rock band song👆🏼 never listen to 🆘)

    Great presentation. How can you compare the manuscript copies of the new testament if there is no original manuscripts left to compare them to?

    • @tjmcbryan
      @tjmcbryan ปีที่แล้ว

      from the sheer amount of manuscript copies that exist that cross reference and agree, and from the letters of the early church that quote and continue to back up those to such a large degree. not just 100's of references that agree and cross reference, but 1000's

    Nope, there aren't enough pastors talking about sin, pointing fingers, as you call it. There were more rears in pews when the Bible, fire and brimstone, was preached.

    The title of this video is not the question to ask, the question to ask is...should I trust "man" in his word in speaking about the bible, and the answer is ....NO! You can trust in the words in the bible!

      To the contrary, after four slow minutes of rapport building, he cut to the chase with a great intensity and compelling questions. But I agree there are some spiritual types who waste one's time.

    Here to wake you up. Imagination being God in man is hard to grasp when the natural mind thinks God is outside. The OT is Divine Allegory not secular history. No ones lost and Jesus was allegory hinting skull not wood one. John Baptist was allegory that taught great Men looking outside are blind, Luke 17:a hint! 20And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
    Your good but don't know your Jesus.

      Literally no historian ever, secular or Christian, agrees with what you’re saying. Your comment is ridiculous.
