Please consider this as my views in general, apart from viewing as my reply to Mr. Dinesh Kumar. Major Sundararajan was a very good actor. I too appreciated his performance very much right from my boyhood. He displayed memorable acting skills especially in most of the Sivaji movies. In the radiance of Sivaji, it is but natural that every actor, whether male or female used to perform well. It is learnt through many actors, directors and others in filmdom that Sivaji used to impart acting nuances/offering valuable suggestions to the fellow artists including many heroes/heroines, so as to highlight their part in the film, by sometimes even suppressing himself voluntarily and magnanimously, considering not only just about himself alone, but also the importance of the concerned characters of co-artists in the story and to enhance overall quality of the film totally. He was considered as Guru by almost every actor, both males and females, including Major. A request ! It is always my humble feeling that we can praise any Artist/Singer/Director, to our heart's content restricted to the concerned individual(s), but can totally avoid making any comparison of them with Dr Sivaji Ganesan, the unmatched one. Such comparisons of others with Sivaji can be described as follows : In terms of Height, it is like comparing with mighty Himalayas, in terms of Depth, it is like comparing with a Miles Deep Ocean and in terms of Extent, it is like comparing with Endless Universe ! Sivaji was unique and his Chair will remain vacant, as it is, for ever. The Vacuum left because of his departure can never be filled up. There can be one Sivaji only in the history of Cinema at the world level for ever. No substitute at all. He was the only University for Acting in total and also left very large Library through his films. Unfortunately, his Drama performance prior to entering filmdom, right from his tender age of 7 till 23 (about 16 years of drama career) could not be captured in movie Camera, in which he portrayed countless roles right from Kings to ordinary ones, including very many Female roles too amazingly, according to elderly fans of such period. Everyone in film fraternity is fully aware of all the above facts, in their inner hearts. You can even view a few Videos released several years back, in which how Major is talking about Sivaji's greatness, stating that had he acted Hollywood, he would have certainly bagged countless Oscars than any other actors in the world. I am trying to recollect the title of the Videos. Please realise this. @@khpkd Sorry to differ from you. Your opinion and that of Mr. Prakash Viswanathan (whose views you endorsed) can be accepted only to a certain extent but not as it is. Major got very good characters in Sivaji's movies, apart from his friend KB's films. But he will fit into only certain roles. Versatility is a wide range. Also I understand what you intend to express indirectly. Major was a very good actor who hailed Sivaji as his Guru always. Had Mr. Major been performing hero role, as Dr.Sivaji did, for the sake of huge fan base and from the point of view of satisfying all types of people,this would not have been possible. Sivaji can do any type of acting, including the one what you said, better than anybody, provided there are no constraints like the one I told or for the sake of producers. Unlike others, Sivaji can transform himself into any role very easily. Also he can act at a time as a father, even grandfather to Major himself if storyline demands, and as an Youth either in the same film or simultaneously in different films. Tell me what role he left to perform in his career ! As once veteran Cho witnessed during a film shooting, Sivaji can act in 6 different ways for the same situation, to everybody's amazement. @@khpkd Sorry to differ from you. Your opinion and that of Mr. Prakash Viswanathan (whose views you endorsed) can be accepted only to a certain extent but not as it is. Major got very good characters in Sivaji's movies, apart from his friend KB's films. But he will fit into only certain roles. Versatility is a wide range. Also I understand what you intend to express indirectly. Major was a very good actor who hailed Sivaji as his Guru always. Had Mr. Major been performing hero role, as Dr.Sivaji did, for the sake of huge fan base and from the point of view of satisfying all types of people,this would not have been possible. Sivaji can do any type of acting, including the one what you said, better than anybody, provided there are no constraints like the one I told or for the sake of producers. Unlike others, Sivaji can transform himself into any role very easily. Also he can act at a time as a father, even grandfather to Major himself if storyline demands, and as an Youth either in the same film or simultaneously in different films. Tell me what role he left to perform in his career ! As once veteran Cho witnessed during a film shooting, Sivaji can act in 6 different ways for the same situation, to everybody's amazement.
