Noticed the wiring had become brittle in my '61 vw panel bus. Didn't want to, but I ripped out the original wiring harness and replaced it with a brand new harness. Took a bout 2 days to finish, but with brand new, flexible wire and much improved 'grounding', everything works like new. But my old bus wasn't nearly as complicated as your bus must have been.
Yes, I sadly and going down that path...chasing the wiring of this age is not worth all the extra effort versus getting a brand new harness. I just need to find a good one I can say is good!
@@bishopofrustyiron3101 “Cherry Garcia” (I name my buses too) was owned by a woman who followed the Dead in it. It was painted accordingly. That by itself is worthy of a short youtube post. I actually JUST dug into the glovebox to the bottom yesterday and found these really awesome bead things. Yes, I’ve owned the bus for about 5 years, but I’ve been poking away at getting it running around too many other life demands. IT’s running and driving now. Still dealing with brakes. But I love this bus!
Not a fan of wiring - all magic to me. You made it look pretty easy. I have a 79 camper and would really like to watch you perform a tune-up. I've got Muir's - How to keep your VW alive. It's helpful but not like watching a video` Thanks
Thanks! I do have a tune up due on 'Jerry' the 74, in a couple months when the weather is nice, that will happen for sure! I'll make sure to show some good step by steps =) Thanks for tuning in!!
Thanks. I'll refer back here when I take the dash out of my bus.
Awesome William, yup take plenty of pics and video if you can when you tear it apart, it WILL save you hehehe
That's so cool.
Thanks you guys!!!

Hello! Welcome!
Maybe those wires seem so short as they have shrunk over the decades…. LoL. I have a 75 bus, with a birds nest wiring situation.
Hehe, ja could be too that previous owners really made it there own, lots of spirit in this old rig ;)
Nice a 75, cool!

As a wiring fiend, The VW schematic is also awesome if photos and video are not taken. Ask me how I know.
