An enthralling film. You have captured the gentleness and the drama of this place - the music soaks in to the footage and your camera work is first class. I have learned so much about the area from your commentary. The ‘tips about Tuesdays’ will be handy for vanners or other travellers! Looking forward to next instalment.
I am enjoying your videos of the Wild Atlantic Way this afternoon. They are very enjoyable. The Round Towers were a place of refuge for the monks, more often than not, from Viking raiders. The monks with their chalices & crosses, accessed the towers by ladder & then pulled the ladded up. They would have had enough food & water stored in the tower to allow them remain safe in the tower for some time.
@@BellasBigAdventuresMy son & I go camping in the West every year & I know it very well. It is interesting to see it from somebody else's eye. May I ask, the left hand drive motorhome, did you buy it in mainland Europe? I am looking to buy one & am thinking of going to Germany to check the market there.
We bought it when we lived in Slovakia. The only downside if you live in UK rather than the EU would be the import tax it adds quite a lot to the costs. (I think it is 20% of the value of the vehicle) We have no problem with it being left hand drive though. It would also be worth checking with an insurance company for any increase in price too. Any places on the west coast you’d recommend for our next visit?
@@BellasBigAdventures Gosh, head South for Cork. Avoid Kinsale - it's far too busy. Will you take the car again? Rosscarbery to Glandore to Union Hall is V pretty. Then Skibbereen then onto Baltimore. From Baltimore head west to Schull & then visit Mizen Head. From there head North to Sheep's Head Peninsula. Then North again to Beara Peninsula. Don't do Beara Ring in the van - roads are too narrow, especially one particular corner. Beara is very very beautiful & must be done slowly to take it all in. Then head North into Kerry. Stop in Kenmare to stock up & from there start the Ring of Kerry. The Ring will be busy if you do it in Summer, but you must be prepared to stop a lot to see everything. Caherdaniel on this trip is one of favourite spots. Once finished, the Dingle Peninsula is next. Again this is spectacular. Spend the night on Inch Beach & then go to Dingle. I always think Dingle is a magical place. If you play a small musical instrument, bring it with you. Don't be afraid to sing a song or tell a story & you will be welcome in every pub. But most of all, you must do this journey very very leisurely. There is a lot to see & great adventures to be had.
Thank you. We realized very quickly that we were trying to do too much too quickly. A couple we met had done 10 weeks and had only just made it up to Doolin from the south! Our motorhome is a little too long for the tiny lanes so maybe I’ll hire a camper or bring the car again but we’ll definitely be back.
Another beautiful video to show the fantastic scenery even with the dull weather, really enjoyed it.
Thank you it is a beautiful country. We will definitely be going back.
