My uncle Paul was from some small town in South Carolina and he sounded very similar. Listen to old clips of Elijah Muhammad speaking, again it sounds very similar. Watch British television for a while, I think you’ll begin to hear the similarities between their accents and our southern accents. When I hear for instance Blanche Devereaux from The Golden Girls I hear traces of England.
Her voice and her message are as direct as they are poetic. Eartha was one of the absolute greatest humans in recent times.
