  • Propagation of the Arum / Calla lilies is by division of the rhizomes or by separating the new offsprings that form from the rhizome. Propagation in the spring and the blooming season is from summer through to late fall. Introduce these beautiful plants full foliage in your garden.

    Alice, you appear to have a wonderful flower garden. Why don't you shoot a video of a garden tour through it. I'm certain you have may plants that are not grown or not conducive to growing in our climate.in North America. As always, thanks so much for your advice.

    Thanks so much for this! I was gifted a pair of purple callas and had no idea how to care for them as I live in the tropics and here's little information available for us.
    Love this channel so much!

    As a common name, “calla” is also generally given to several species of the genus Zantedeschia, which are often called calla lilies. All native to South Africa, the most important is the common florist’s calla (Z. aethiopica), a stout herb with a fragrant white spathe and arrow-shaped leaves that spring from a thick rootstock. It is a popular indoor plant and is grown commercially for cut flowers. The golden, or yellow, calla lily (Z. elliottiana), with more heart-shaped leaves, and the pink, or red, calla lily (Z. rehmannii) are also grown. The spotted, or black-throated, calla lily (Z. albomaculata), with white-spotted leaves, has a whitish to yellow or pink spathe that shades within to purplish brown at the base.alla, either of two distinct kinds of plants of the arum family (Araceae).
    The genus Calla contains one species of aquatic wild plant, C. palustris, which is known as the arum lily, water arum, or wild calla. It occurs widely in wet places in cool north temperate and subarctic regions and grows readily in mud or shallow water along pond edges or watercourses. A handsome plant, it has heart-shaped leaves, showy white floral leaves (spathes), and clusters of brilliant red berries. The juice of C. palustris is violently poisonous.

    I have a yellow mini calla lily that I got for prom in a bouquet. Is there any way to grow them for my garden?

      Hi Sarah, thanks for sharing. With Arum Lilies they multiply through division of their Rhizomes, which are extended underground stems.

    Hi, I have put my arum lily in water 3 years back. My plant had only one flower in last 3 years. And the leaves are not growing much. What should I do? TIA

      Just check the water level and make sure the water is not covering the crown of the plant. In addition the location of the plant should be either full sun to partial shade.

    Can we propogate Gerbera Daisy by it's leaf (as some videos on youtube are getting viral)? If yes then please make a video on this....

    • @redsoilgardener
      @redsoilgardener  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Manish, thank you for following our channel. We have a tight schedule but will definitely put your request forward. Propagation for the Gerbera daisy is easy through division. The mother plant will produce babies close the the root stem. Remove these babies and repot.
