I’m happy that you saw the signs early and was able to get herself out of that toxic work environment. Happy that you found another specialty that you are gonna love and I pray that you find your passion in it. Good luck ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Jordan! Wow, you’ve been through a lot already and I am so sorry. I’ve been a new grad nurse for 8 months and I’m through an agency. I’m not ready for staff yet. The money is great but I’m really enjoying the hours and flexibility of where I can work. Keep pushing and smiling. You’ll find a great place that will welcome you with open arms. ❤
Never ever take more than required ratios. Learn to say no early. Don't let anyone bait or pressure you into risking your license. It's the hospital's job to find the staff, that has nothing to do with you. People have normalized bullying, hazing, and toxicity like it's okay and it's not. Nursing is NOT the same and so many people sadly have been duped and deceived into getting into this line of work. There's so many other things you can do. These people be power tripping but they won't approach you like that in the street. That's the thing, they act like they're so freaking bad, but cowards when outside. Also, instructors or employers will NEVER be upfront and honest about what's going on. Healthcare is a total smoke screen. They're full of crap.
What made you completely switch specialties instead of finding another psych job? I currently work in psych and I’m debating whether to go back to a medical floor
We only had 1 psych location at my hospital and I’m in a 2 year contract so I couldn’t go to a different hospital. So I just decided to switch plus I needed more of a challenge!
I’m glad my experience helped you. I hope that whatever you may be going through, you overcome it. If you need someone to talk to you can DM me on my social media🤍

Nursing is messy. Been a nurse almost 30 years and it’s been that way from day 1

Hospitals always give new grads the worst jobs. Wonder why they quit. Rinse, repeat.
