My dad (stepdad but he raised me so I call him dad) did this for me even tho I was 3 days away from being 1 so didn’t understand a word of it he still did it, he did it to show my family how much he cares about me and to show that he will treat me as his own. He used to wear 2 rings (one on each hand), one for my mum and one for me, but his finger that my mum’s was on got too fat so he had to take mine off in order to still be able to wear hers (although on the wrong hand). He still has the ring even tho he doesn’t wear it.
