Nice to see you give this one a go Quill. A few tips: 1. Practice: During Practice, bring your drivers in after a single lap (i.e. as soon as they leave the pits, tell them to come back in). This will allow you to get feedback after every lap, rather than on completion of 3 laps+ 2. Reliability: Focus improving the reliability on Gears and Engine - these take much longer to fix during a race. Wings are quick to fix and you can fix one of the wings without increasing the pit time at all. 3. Sponsors: Wait until race day to accept you sponsors rather than the week before - you will get 3 sponsor offers per slot to choose from so waiting a few days will give you more choice.
You should totally do this series, but not only until the 10 races... this game starts to shine when you develop your own cars in the winter pre-season. Few tips: -Always start the race with high tyrewear and rich engine mode, they are 2 variables in the overtake mechanic, so its important especially in the beginning -Under Safety Car, always save fuel, you can lengthen your stint by a lot during this period, resulting in fewer pit stops -Always wait until you get all 3 sponsors for each slot; -Never develop illegal parts, they are only a moneysink; -Balance practice sessions between having +15% bonus on the specific tyre and having ~100% setups; -ALWAYS ask for additional funds, because there is no reason not to. -Start scouting drivers immediately, because there are lots of them, and races are pretty much all live or die on them.

I've been playing this game for a while now and have just started my second playthrough on TH-cam Quill. It starts off tough but after 2-3 season's things will start improving. with illegal parts wait until 2-3 races until the end of the season, get their performance maxed out and still don't use them. as long as they are better than your current parts they will carry over to next season AND they will lose all risk!
didn't expect to see this game here :) Beginning of the season it's more important to get that reliability up. if you don't have to stop 50 seconds extra every race you will get a few more points in easily while you develop new parts for the mid and end of the season.
Hey quill ! make sure to always pit when safety cars is out, there is no point in wasting fuel and tire were when you cant overtarke and it gives you a free refuel and new tires so its basiclly a free pitstop
Key is to conserve during safety car, start with super softs, have the pit strategy be longer for the first pit and shorter for the last leg so you can have a lower weight towards the end but have enough fuel to be aggressive (Lap 10 and Lap 22 is pretty good imho). Also, you were pushing dreyfuss to be aggressive in the beginning when marchetta was outside the sponsor window. ALL of these are just suggestions. Experimenting and finding your own way is fun too :)
I also played octane when I first started playing this! okay so scouting is important and you should be scouting almost all the time. I also recommend upgrading the scouting. it just gives you more insight on drivers, and the upgrade will show more drivers. also when deciding what sponsor deal just figure out how much money you make per race to figure out the best sponsor.
Don't take a sponsor until right before a race or if you have 5 offers per slot which is the max. This way you can choose the best one in the long run and not just one you're ok with. And reliability it way more important than performance at the beginning of the season. You can have all of the fast parts for your car but if you're having 30 second pit stops fixing those parts every race it's not going to make a difference. I always try to get my parts above 75% before I start working on performance. and finally you do a let's play for a game I already own so I'm not tempted to go buy a new one 😀
+Quill18 when they come in on practice you should ALWAYS change the tires for fresh ones. It allows them to have the fastest time possible for the best chance at poll.

already played and stomped this game hahaha. Its pretty rough if you dont handle it in certain ways. Always do qualifying yourself, keep an eye on the weather, always go inters/wets at the start IF it will start raining within a few laps, just little things like that. Always have a part being worked on. Risk goes away going into a new season but stats stay the same for your base parts, so a good risky part is nice to have at the end of the season. Your designer is extremely important when it comes to getting good parts.
and your star driver IS going to crash out. Its programmed in. In some cases, no matter what, you are just simply going to crash out. That, for me, is the single most annoying part of this entire game.
Skool especially on the last day were you need to get 1st and 2nd, last lap, last corner and your driver in 2nd crashes giving your rivals the championship
the devs have programmed it in such a way that you have a very high chance of crashing in the last corner before pit lane, which allows the computer driver to instantly get in the lane but you have to do a lap with a damaged car. Why do I say you have to? It happens so reliably that I was able to watch that corner and catch it the very moment it happened, and it was already too late to get the driver down the pits. I was doing testing on it because i saw it happen so many times, so i was loading the race and it was literally happening every single race. That is, without a doubt, Not RNG. Thats programmed in, and imho, total BS from the devs.

Also a tip from FM is half something soft beside you because if your star driver crashes out you will want to kill a kid
